So what have you done with your Aston today?

My door sill plates look a bit water stained and I can't seem to get them to clean up nicely. I had an idea to have them repainted body colour, has anyone else ever done this and how does it look? I've bought a second set from ebay this weekend to try it out on, just in case I don't like it.

I've just ordered some wrap to cover mine after a few feet marks have scratched them No sure painting is going to be very durable

What kind of wrap will you use Mikey?
A silver 3D CF effect with the black Vantage S "sweeps" cut out.If it looks "chav" I've already looked at the 3M brushed black Divetheworld mentioned
A shed load cheaper than reanodising which is costly and doesn't solve the problem of being easily scratched

I managed a 1250 mile round trip from London to Aberdeen and back for a friends wedding over the weekend. I did a cheeky little track day at Knockhill on the way back down. It was wet and cold in the morning and the most scared Ive ever been driving a car, the traction control didnt have a chance! There were quite a few Clio drivers chuffed theyd manage to overtake an Aston until it dried out in the afternoon and I restored the natural balance of things!!

Actually Knockhill would make a great venue for an Aston Trackday, just a shame its so far away! I did one with Murray Motors Aston Edinburgh a few years back and chucked a Rapide round the track. Its the only course in the UK to have permission to run the track in a reverse format.Heres an idea, I wonder if you could hire the track for the day, run a morning session with the traditional anti clockwise direction and an afternoon session in reverse?!

I disagree. It's a horrible place. The worst run and least regulated track that I've been on in the UK. I'll never go back.
I taking it that youre not entirely keen....?A few of us were thinking of venturing up there for a track day, Could I ask why you dont like it.? Croft is nearer anyhow!

Ive now been to a decent number of tracks down here, most of them being racing in the MSV Trackday Trophy this year and a few trackdays at the likes of Goodwood and Rockingham. My observation would be that on arriving at Knockhill its appearance is definitely provincial, theres no getting past that! It just doesnt see the investment that English tracks get due to population density and use. But the course itself, whilst being small (1.3 miles) is challenging and fun, certainly enough for a day, Duffus dip in particular willing you to attack faster and faster and the uphill chicane is fun!
I dont know how many times youve been BravoV8V, if loads and youve had a bad experience every time then fair enough. Ive done 15 odd trackdays there in all conditions over the past 3 years and in general the days have been well run. Certainly nothing Ive ever seen to put me off and Ive driven my Mondeo race car, DBS, C63 etc there.
If your going up to Edinburgh for a weekend, its well worth going, especially in the summer with the long evenings and in the dry.......not too sure of the chances of that tho :-)

I went there a couple of times in my M3 CSL. I even picked one of their 'Hot Marques' days in order to reduce the chance of being punted off my a souped up Clio. That didn't help though - there were plenty of crappy little hatchbacks on the day. And, by and large, they were driven by people who had scant regard for the rules or for other track users.A few of us were thinking of venturing up there for a track day, Could I ask why you dont like it.? There was overtaking on the left and right, into corners, under braking, on the hairpin, everywhere. And there wasn't a red or black flag to be seen anywhere. If there were marshallers present, they didn't seem to be concerned about enforcing the (safety) rules.
So, no thanks, not again.
