Which brand did you go for?
I went for the 0801 from amazon. Really chuffed with it. I was tempted by the 0805 but not sure I really needed the extra functionality. I can always upgrade I guess in the future.

£40 well spent IMO
Thanks

Was it easy to install neatly?
Very easy really. Only difficult bit was the hard wiring part.

The wire runs from front to back tucked into the headlining

Nothing serious I hope....
Not too sure yet… happily pootling down the outside lane then given the red triangle, an 'engine system service urgent' and 'emission system service urgent' warnings, shortly followed by red battery symbol and engine management amber light…

Clutch in, coast to hard shoulder, car clearly not running right, so turn off. Give it the standard 5 minutes to see if it fixes itself…. nothing doing, so a combination of calls to AMW and RAC gets the car recovered home, and Works coming to get it next week.

I was glad I had 2 coats in the car, it got bloody cold on the roadside. My feet are still freezing!

After hearing that the trickle chargers that come with the car do have a 'Life Span' I changed over to the CTEK MXS 5.0 Charger. Early indications are that the original charger was not functioning correctly which would explain why I recently had a flat battery even though the trickle charger was plugged in.

OEM charger is sh it. AKAIK, the oem charger outputs 0.8 amps, the MXS5.0 puts out, you guessed it, 5 amps. The OEM couldn't handle you leaving the interior lights on.

Hi Ken, how does a TPSM fault stop you driving the car?

I'm guessing by throwing the CAN Bus in to a state of confusion?

Correct Mike. It is intermitently calling brake failure and all sorts. No indicators. No speedo. Folds mirrors in at 70mph... Still drives great (well heavy steering at slow speeds). BERU Module is now new so it ain't TPMS.

Crazy a non real fault kills the whole f car. Nuts.

Modern electronics frown
Great until they start playing up
Have you asked the dealer to fit the AMDS data logging system so they can see what is going on when the fault triggers?

Thanks for the tip Mike. I think it throws so many faults that diagnostics are useless in, err, diagnosing. I have a feel this is something to do with gearbox dash display gubbins - gearbox works fine. Arghhh!

After nearly 10 months of ownership, finally got around to removing Fuse 22.
Wish I had done it sooner smile

Computer said no...

Glad it's running for you. Personally I'm glad the Aston doesn't have tooooo much in the way of technology. Give any tech a few years and it goes kerplunk and looks very dated very quickly.

You have my sympathies - I spent a few rather chilly hours on the side of the M25 in the company of a very pleasant RAC chap awaiting a suitable tow truck.

Packed the car off in the safe confines of the Works Service truck this afternoon, so hopefully a short stay at the Aston Hospital for Poorly Motors!
