Decided to get the strut braces powdercoated satin black as I preferred not to see them through the bonnet vents.
Love that, might do the same. Are those anodised blue bolts etc?

Cheers Adam - the matt finish was the main reason to change to cf - I was fed up with all the reflections from the piano black - very happy bunny now
That's why I didn't spec Piano Back in my roadster, plus it dust that gets in with the roof down scratches it to bits
One of my favourite things about the Aston forum is all the top tips you find, I've done lots of little touches on my Vantage now thanks to other posters info. Not done today, but my Saturday will be using the following. Chipex to repair some chips on my door handle parts where the seatbelt buckle has hit, gtechniq for polishing her up and LEDs for the foot wells. (Already did the map lights a few weeks back) keep those top tips coming guys!
Cheers Paddy, will do. I wanted to just ask you to come do a detail on the car but you're a bit far away!
Oh, one quick question Paddy. My car has full paint protection film that's been fitted for years. It has a few nicks and blemishes on the bumper section now, would using a steam cleaner be the best thing to remove it and then use some goo gone before then washing and polishing?

I bottled it on the film removal, but have just finished washing and polishing it. Slightly irked that a car can't thank you for the effort of keeping it clean, in my entire car history I've NEVER spent four hours doing so! I think I'll leave all the interior stuff until tomorrow and go for a drive now. The gtechniq spray really has brought up an amazing shine on the car in which this iPhone photo completely fails to demonstrate. Lovely in reality though so I'm quite chuffed.

Are those anodised blue bolts etc?
Yes, I replaced all of the rusting bolts with blue and red anodised fasteners to make working on it in the future easier and to brighten it up a bit. Thats a great benefit when getting stuck into a job and not needing to fight with rusty seized bolts. Are those anodised blue bolts etc?
I went with high tensile stainless steel for the brace though as it is a stressed area, using Allen head bolts with blue cup washers. I just buffed them up on the polisher before fitting them with a dab of copper grease on the threads. Alloy nuts on the wiper linkage.
