Neil and Pete......I have always regarded you both as forum friends .....however your negative posts concerning me have caused me to re-evaluate my position.
I am 38 ish years old and very fit and take exception to any comments that attempt to suggest anything else.
It concerns me that if one of the many lithe young Russian models that clamour for my attention read this forum they might believe your slanderous suggestion that I am an old codger.
Neil.........The Ford Cortina was indeed produced in 1965.....I however purchased one in 1985 as a Classic Car.
I'm confused by the maths! You owned a classic car at the age of 8?

Dear Timbals....your confusion is understandable as I take it you do not own an Aston.
Those that do drive Aston's will understand that, having access to my parents vast estate,I indeed purchased the car at that tender age and was able to drive it around the grounds.

I think I agree with this but is putting a DBS/V12V gear lever on a V8V allowed as I'm currently considering this?
I am also considering this. I have heard that the gear change feels betting with this gear lever?? not sure how true this, but they do look nice and don't look outrageous in a V8 thumbup
Well, I went the other way and find the V8 lever easier/better than the DBS type. Probably a grass is greener effect.

I'm still confused as to why your parents would let you drive around in a Ford and not a Ferrari.

That cannot be right.

Would you not have told the assistant under chauffeur, to have driven it around the grounds for you?
If it was the 1300 Cortina, you could have asked him to abandon it in your family moat.

sticking a V12 bonnet on a V8 is like sticking a M3 badge on a BMW 318i, kinda embarrassing.

Thats the only mod I've done to my 09 V8 and I love it! Would recommend.
++1 definitely worth doing. I got my 'lever second hand, it had a few scratches which I had to polish out but worth the effort for a 75% saving and the improved shift quality.

I believe that it's available as an option so technically not completely non-standard 😀

Hi guys,
I've always been into my BMWs and this is my first Aston. Its just had a load of work done to it recently including a full respray in white. Managed to locate some really nice carbon parts in the UK and a set of 2014 Aston Vanquish Wheels to finish her off. What do you guys think?

Are there any good meets local to Milton Keynes coming up soon? Would be nice to meet some members as I'm new to the Aston scene
This car is for sale at ASM Perfomance still ?

Three tradesman have tendered a quote for work in the house. However, it would appear by their works transport, that one is grossly over estimating the price for the job! laugh

Couple of days in London. Millenium Gloucester hotel in Kensington nice and handy for the M4. Concierge insisted I parked right outside the front door for the whole time. Didn't happen when I had a Porsche!!

Took the hard decision to delay collection of my new steed from McGurks due to poor weather outlook on Saturday. Now just salivating at the sneak pics Paddy has provided showcasing the last 3 days of his hard labour.

Ha! I kicked my heels for 2 hours after my CQuartz detail - waiting for the heavens to subside...and ended up taking none of its gleam home as it rained for 150 miles! 1 definition of frustration.
