Emergency trip to Devon...and back today. 500 miles, 9 hours of driving. The Aston was perfect as was the SatNav!
Can't imagine a better car to do that sort of trip in.

Fortunately one is handsomely insured, so I just need to put a call into the broker.

Well done Neal - finally made it to Wales then! Shame you couldn't make it to the (2014?) Welsh Weekender.

BTW - has anyone else taken on that vacant organiser's post yet? wink

Not for the Welsh one. I've kept my head down as I've just moved to a different firm which has kept me busy.

Hope you did the Llyn (lake) Clywedog road Neil (as seen in all the car mags and regular hoon for me) whilst near Elan Valley (no accent on Elan mind - it aint French for sprightly Lotus or something!) smile

What was the previous format Molly as it sounds like a job a local fixer that knows every cats-eye in these parts can help with smile

Spot on Molly even met a kindred spirit in the car park at the metropole where I didn't get to stay last time :

It's grigio Titanio (Ferrari) Pete so it changes with the sun:

Molly will correct me but about 20 cars, meet Friday night at the hotel, approx 200 mile route on the sat, then back to the hotel and dinner in the evening. Last year a few did an informal run on the Sunday for lunch.

We stayed in Llandrindod wells last year and went south to the brecons.

The more difficult bit is finding a suitable hotel as you're spoilt for choice on the roads.

Thanks Jon - fabulous driving routes from Llandrindod via Llyn Clywedog to Snowdon to the Portmeirion Hotel abound in my head!

Some great roads west of Portmeirion/Snowdon too, over towards Bala and Vyrnwy. The evo triangle is there too (although often policed at the weekend but for some it might be on their todo list)

Maybe we should just pick a weekend when the Portmeirion hotel or somewhere like that has decent vacancies and people can just book direct, and gave a run out in the Sat. There are some usual suspects who I imagine would go if free.
