Replaced the battery, which was fun NOT. Last time I put the car away I pushed the battery cut off switch and nothing appeared to happen, today when trying to start the car I did not realise there are two switches and on and off. So car started and out of garage seats moved forward to access battery that was easy. Removing the clamps for the battery was a real pain, in the end I had to remove the sill plate so I could move the side trim slightly to slide the clamp off. Physically lifting the battery in and out is not easy either.

So battery replaced trim refitted started car which then cut out immediately, tried to start and would turn over but not start. Time for a cup of tea and Google, found possible solution on PH to lock with key fob and leave for a bit, tried this and car started. Reset windows, still don't quite understand the need to reset the seats so left them alone.

During the battery dying I had various warnings on the dash the last one being the emissions, this I could not resolved with out a quick blast to Davron who very kindly reset the code.

Car all ok now apart from to many tractors on the road so need to wash car.

Thanks PH and Davron for the various bit of info with out which I would be been stuck.

Had 2 new front tyres fitted and full geometry alignment with Hunter Hawkeye system. We shall see what difference it makes if anything.

Alignment wasn't that far out on anything other than front toe-in. The tyres that came off were certainly more worn on the insides.

Was originally on Bridgestones but now on Michelin PSS, although still the Bridgestones on the back for the time being. Must say I was more than happy with the way the car drove before, turn in was good, as was outright grip, although the DSC did kick in a fair bit if pushing on. Heard good stuff about the PSS but no specifics about how different they are to the Bridgestones. Looking forward to finding out.

Trip to Derby. Firstly to Stratstone to drop off some bits of the dashboard that need re-trimming, summer trip to the South of France saw the glue loose it's grip of the leather in a few places.
Then on to Chartwell bodyshop to have a few paint blisters rectified, pleased to say AM will be covering the cost of the paint issues, car is 6 years old.

Saw this picture showing a crack in my cylinder head between the inlet and exhaust ports and running down to the valve guide and casually thought, "Oh, I'll need a new cylinder head then..." laugh

Did you get a "happy ending" or something? Never known you to be happy after paying for something.
