I will never own one, but working on them is second best. Kev, that car is a stunner.
Come on Paddy, I never really thought I would own one but I just kept working away in the faint hope that one day it might happen.

Thanks for the compliment, I think it is stunning but I might just be a little bit biased.

Car gone yesterday, off to Shrewsbury with its new owner.

Had a great 4 years and 4 days with the car........I'm not a powerfully built PH DIrector, just a normal bloke on a more normal salary - that for the last 5 years ran 2 Astons as my daily car ( a year in a 55 plate coupe sold at 31k miles, 2 years in the 08 plate roadster sold at 69.5k miles ) and over the 5 years had minimal problems, a few small frustrations with the build quality, but the beauty of the cars made up for it all !
The cars were no more expensive than buying and running a new 3 series BMW or similar and running, selling after 5 years. The cars are meant to be driven.

Great marque, beautiful cars !

Hope to be back in a N430 /VantageS Roadster when they are available for £40k. High mileage well looked after example please, that'll get me into one sooner please.

Nice touch to gift wrap it for the new owner smile

Has anyone had this happen? For the first time ever I whacked the nose on a curb. Underestimated the length of the bonnet and unfortunately the curb was too low for the front parking sensors to register. Luckily the damage is right under the nose by the scratch plate and can't be seen even from the front and squatting down. So I'm going to get some touchup paint and cover it rather then get a repaint.

This is a big event because I've never scraped my Astons before. I'll recover with suitable therapy smile

New resin floor laid in the garage and driven the Vantage home from temporary storage on a beautiful sunny afternoon with the roof down!

Sound like you just got away with it. I always find it annoying that you have to either select reverse or push the button for the front sensors to work, which is easily forgotten.

And doubly worse because I lecture anyone within earshot about parking for scrape prevention. Had to swallow my words on this one. Yes, I always push the front button but am never sure what sweep range the sensors have.

Put it up for sale, so that I can afford to fund my own wedding. Sad day, hoped to be able to keep it as the wedding car for us, but the cost of weddings is so eye watering that it'll have to go :-(

If anyone is after a midnight blue 06 V8V then it's in the classifieds now.

Really sorry to hear that, I made the same mistake too - getting married that is! Can't you keep the car and convince her that a 'Buddhist Chanting Session' is much more 2016? For the record I spent 2K on my wedding and the next day we were just as married as anyone else....

Personally I would find out how much she really loves you, suggest you get married in a registry office and then just have a few friends for a nice meal in the evening. If she agrees then she is a keeper along with the Vantage which you then don't need to sell. If she doesn't then is she really the girl for you? cut your losses before the inevitable divorce in a few years time, keep the Vantage and spend the money you saved on upgrades wink

In the real world sorry for your loss. Where are you getting married and when? you might at least get a few Pistonheaders with Aston Martins who will be able to act as wedding cars for you.

Hope you are back in an AM soon.

Haha, unfortunately, as you probably know, when a girl has her heart set on a certain sort of wedding then there is no saying no! In fairness she was trying to convince me to keep it and make the maths work somehow, but it just didn't add up unfortunately! Wedding venue is slightly up in the air, between 2 places (both cost about the same), one down in Surrey, the other up in Northumberland, so who knows who might be near!

Hopefully I'll rejoin the fold in the future once we've managed to save a bit again!

Thank you for reminding me to never get married!

Surely one day can't be worth as much as your pride and joy?!

It can be done, I promise! I sold my V8VR to help fund our wedding a few years ago.

We had the best day ever (rented a farmhouse in Provence with 40 close friends/family), I drove a Mk5 Golf GTi for 9 months whilst we replenished the funds and I was back in a newer, better, greener Vantage Roadster before I knew it biggrin

Give the woman you love the day she's dreamed of. The space on your driveway can be easily (re)filled.

I hope you get what you want for your lovely car.

Dash ready for my glass button kit as well (no idea why it uploaded sideways)
