So what have you done with your Aston today?

Well I didn't put in new carpet mats, but did fit the re-finished wheels on my Vantage and clean up the wheel arches and brakes. Wheels have come up really nicely
Very nice those, your post has reminded me that I have a set of those wheels in silver which need to go for refurbishing, then they'll be for sale! Got a wonderfully positive result following a complaint to Andy Palmer - credit to him and his team!

Which now means that I'll be staying on as an AM owner

That's great news, I remember how excited you were when you were about to pick it up Details here : http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I haven't had the opportunity to read the entire link/posts, but admire the fact you didn't feel it necessary to air all the dirty washing initially (kept your powder dry) and gave the dealership some wriggle-room.

Thanks Dave. Yes, I was also excited to get it back after the 6 weeks it was away too, then it broke 3 days later I haven't had the opportunity to read the entire link/posts, but admire the fact you didn't feel it necessary to air all the dirty washing initially (kept your powder dry) and gave the dealership some wriggle-room.
Looking forward to it again for a 3rd time now!
Good result Vinnie. Really good. You hear so many tales of hugely profitable manufacturers shafting customers for their 'mea culpa' design flaws (swirl flaps, IMS, Nikasil, particularly Porsche on scored bores) so its great that enthusiasts don't get shafted when something that really shouldn't go wrong does go wrong! And then when a 'not so profitable' manufacturer does the 'right thing' then it endears us aficionados to them even more. Result all round I hope

Thanks 😊 I had a similar situation with Porsche a few years back myself and as you say they screwed me over and effectively told me to deal with it myself. It has given me a lot more confidence in the brand for sure
Make her walk next time. LOL

Today was a good day.
Wash and top up wax.
Leather fed (took ages - it's amazing just how much there is inside the cabin - oh, and I found that the seats have front pockets, under the front lip where your ankles are... In all the time of ownership, I've never been aware of their existence).
The car still comes up like the day she was made.
Then she was given a good blast (law abiding!) through the Sussex countryside, and then picked my daughter (12 yrs old) up from school in her (much to my daughter's disgust/embarrassment - although the lads seemed to like it).
