Driving to Bruntingthorpe in the Vanquish S for VMAX event for the day smile Soooo excited! I'm told AM will be at the event so hoping to get some interesting runs against other cars and be great to have a head to hed against a DB11... videos and photos to follow!
Friend of mine went, touched an indicated 200mph in his 488. How did you get on?

Not sure about that, might have been a speedo reading, the conditions were not great and a shocking head wind, even the 2 Veyrons, P1, 918, and pagani huayra didn't break 200mph on the radar trap so I'd be very surprised if a 488 did! I went against a Black 488, possibly the same one and he certainly had me! I hit the beams at 172 and he hit 179.

Yes black with gold wheels I believe.

He definitely hit an indicated 200 as he sent me the vid his passenger took! It literally hit 200 for a fraction of a second before he let off.

I'd imagine that would be closer to 190 though?

Cleaned it, drove it for the first time after a full service and in the dry with semi warm roads....and cleaned it again.

Getting the power down on warm roads is a whole new experience....

1)Don't spend anything on shampoo but spend loads on head polish.
2)Thought you were getting a new Vank but that's not the case then.

Hell`s Teeth Man! That`s no good... but you are fine and you`re out there really using the car, plus you have a spare if I`m not mistaken wink I hope the inner workings are all straight so you can just bolt on the new panels and get on with it!

Driving home from Baselworld late this afternoon the sun poked it's head through the gathering clouds for a few minutes and enabled me to stop and get a couple of shots of the mighty TUNGSTEN doing it's thing! It's such a multifaceted colour.

I do have the red one as well, but it's already at the body shop getting some fresh paint. So, two Astons, both getting paint right now rolleyes

And yeah, really lucky about timing on this since the grey one was already scheduled for repairs anyway. I'm paying out of pocket for a decent portion of it, but that amount would have been MUCH higher had my girlfriend not bumped the front end a couple weeks ago!

I've already got parts here and more on the way for repairs - new front wing, door, door mirror, V12 bonnet (with mesh, not carbon fiber louvers), AMR lightweight front bumper beam and grill-replacing mesh, and a couple other things. One of the tail lights cracked when I hit the tire wall. I was already planning to put clear tail lights on my red car, so I can swap the standard red ones from it onto my grey car.

A bunch of people have commented on how little I reacted to the accident. Frankly, the car has been hit 3 times in the front (once by an old guy backing up into it in a parking lot, once by a drunk driver, and once when it rolled into a pole after my girlfriend parked it). So, it's not exactly a pristine car accident-wise. Plus, it's becoming more of a track car anyway. I'm redoing the suspension over the next few months, adding racing seats, and hopefully getting a half-cage put in behind the seats. Goal is to make a road-legal car not far off from the GT4 race car. I've been slowly working on it for a few years now, so it's just a matter of accelerating my build plans and getting more serious with it cool
