So what have you done with your Aston today?

Little 40 mile trip round Leicestershire and Derbyshire this morning. One of those trips where everything just seems to work right, you don't miss a gear change or find yourself in the wrong gear. Good set of bends that mean you get to extend the engine without breaking the limit all over the place. My little boy (4) just sat there in his seat next to me and enjoyed the trip too... lovely morning!

What a great photo.. Ive never seen a Vulcan in that colour too..
Where was that taken?.
Vulcan was in that colour as it was pencilled in to drop an Atomic bomb and the white colour would protect it better from the flashWhere was that taken?.

Just came back from a long weekend up in the Cairgorms and the NC500. What a spectacular part of the world, and some fantastic roads up there. Aston was its element. Perfect for the job.
Super picture, super car, super post,,,, exactly what I had in mind when as Y100 I started the thread way, way back. Long may it continue.BlackV8 said:
... had a blast today on a short trip towards Maloja Pass, Switzerland. Lot‘s of the well known German sports cars, but have only seen one Aston Martin in the wild ...
Good stuff, looks like a nice day for it! There are plenty of lesser know passes in the region that are also a good drive.Bought the car about 3 weeks ago (v8 MY08).
Drove it to Europe with some like-minded friends and their cars (France/Switzerland/Austria etc) - Furka pass et al.
Covered about 2600 miles i think.
Used about a litre of oil.
Found the lambda/cat slow response light came on a few times.
Got annoyed by the handbrake!
Averaged 23.2mpg.
(I have no idea how we managed the above - 130kph on French motorways. 1st and 2nd gear at high revs up almost all of the passes...)
I'll post a few pics up when i get them downloaded. Obviously without pics this never happened

Took my V12V to Millbrook Proving Ground for an Aston Martin PDC. After much head scratching a few months ago, I decided to do it in a DBSS. Unfortunately, past models are no longer available, and the manual Vantage AMR isn’t on the list yet, so the DBSS seemed a sensible option. What a wonderful machine. Thanks to my instructor, Paul Beddow, for an informative, educational and thoroughly enjoyable day. He is a very knowledgable and talented man, and a great teacher. If any of you guys get the chance to do it, go for it. Cannot recommend it highly enough. I’m knackered now, but out for a birthday dinner tonight and a well earned beer or two!

Paul is a top guy. Had him one to one for the entire day at a couple of track days. Well worth the investment.Best Regards

Got my key issue sorted. My crystal key started the car but wouldn't unlock / lock it but my valet key did everything albeit with buttons so worn I couldn't read them. One of the lads at work managed to transfer the relevant innards of the valet key over to the crystal key so I now have a fully working crystal key with buttons I can read and a valet key that only starts (albeit combined with the manual key that is of some use). It appears the crystal key suffered water damage at some stage in its life. Next plan is to try and get the valet key working by removing the chip that contains the programming codes from the PCB and moving it onto a new PCB from a donor volvo key. Not sure if it will work but worth a try for the sake of a £10 key!
