Hello all - I've been a proud AM owner for the past couple of months now and have benefitted hugely from all the insight and advice that you all share on here… thank you!

I also, therefore, understand the rite of passage that requires me to post a few pics of said motor… a 2004 DB9 in Tungsten Silver (as well as receive a fair bit of abuse!)

It may be a very early DB9 (216th off the line at Gaydon) but only one owner from new, full AMFSH and only 25,000 miles on the clock. Happily these photos are taken after the talented paddy328 worked his magic.

It’s not without the need of a little tlc to spruce it up a little, but all in good time….

Tonyhall38 – count me in for Hever (and thanks for connecting me with that front grille…)

Welcome to the World of Aston Martin. Your car looks superb! One tiny observation, your front No. Plate is in the right place but it is still on its plinth. In my humble opinion it should be stuck straight onto the bumper!!
Hope to meet you on a drive out sometime.

Very nice indeed, welcome to AM ownership. I trust the previous owner advised on the correct style of pipe and slippers for that model biggrin

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm looking forward to Hever.

I've pondered the front number plate plinth... as I have the ski slope, rear lights, knobs, iPod integration, wheel upgrade etc etc. . Its easy to go crazy. I look forward to meeting, sharing and learning from you guys this weekend!

Cockernee - you must be a Vantage owner... I won't hold it against you!

Congratulations! And welcome to the forum.

As you've seen it's (mostly) a very friendly place round here, not too on topic, or serious, but occasionally helpful and supportive smile

Don't ever hold anything against Cockers, he'll have it away faster than you can blink smile

Nice one Dobie - practically the same as mine but 5 years older !!!

Though mine has done 22k high speed miles.....must be all these meet ups whistle

I didn't even know the DB9 came with a number plinth. The cross section is big enough to hold a full plate without the plinth, unlike the Vantage confused

Congratulations and love the colour smile but then again as a Tungsten owner I would. With Phil on the number plate plinth as my 9 didn't have one. Assumed none did but need to look harder in future to see.

Have fun yes and welcome to the mad house

My v8v was tungsten. Cracking colour. That car is beautiful. Despite selling mine, I still ogle at them every time I see one on the road, what you really need now is a set of these wheels to really finish her off: http://astonmartinbits.com/models/4-DB9/parts/573 - they make the world of difference. Ambits are a bit expensive... I know someone with the full refurbed set for just £650 ;-)

Very nice indeed! +1 on the plinth (once you've got used to parking it) and just in time for the summer (he said hopefully).

That is a bit of a bargain - and yes, brings the car up to date nicely yes

FYI OP, tyres are a straight swap as well...
