Think the button I had fitted when switched on gives you the noise all the way through but saves pulling the fuse .
As a comparison to the 911 - havent done enough miles yet in the Aston but thus far the 911 feels much smaller although its only in width where the Aston is a fair bit bigger -17cm or so - both feel pretty planted and the Aston steering feels as nicely weighted if not slightly better.Road noise similar and not much in it on feeling the bumps in the road.Engine noise well obviously no comparison and you feel much more special in the Aston.

Thanks, how about seat of the pants performance? As a comparison to the 911 - havent done enough miles yet in the Aston but thus far the 911 feels much smaller although its only in width where the Aston is a fair bit bigger -17cm or so - both feel pretty planted and the Aston steering feels as nicely weighted if not slightly better.Road noise similar and not much in it on feeling the bumps in the road.Engine noise well obviously no comparison and you feel much more special in the Aston.
Gibbon , the Vantage sounds and feels like it is going quicker but I suspect the Porsche actually is - A to B over normal roads Porsche is quicker and " easier " to chuck about - the Vantage doesnt encourage you as much.Straight acceleration not much in it although the Vantage feels more linear. That all said I have always taken it easy on new cars ( irrespective of bench run ins ) so suspect when 1000 miles up I will be pushing the Aston much harder than now so difference even less.As a daily driver though the Porsche is boring in comparison from a feelgood factor.
FFFFFFFFFantastic, congrat's on the new beast I love Ceramic Grey

Weird that's the second SP10 with light weight wheels but no sports suspension
Pull fuse 15 for that noise all the time
Yes Mikey... A.M. have been rather sneaky, with the SP10 they added the Premium audio to the V8S spec as a head-liner FOC extra and took away sports suspension on the coupe... it is still an optional extra though (although I believe it is standard on the Roadster go figure!!) ! The S can now be had with.. "Comfort" suspension as a NCO!Pull fuse 15 for that noise all the time

a sporty special edition based on the S with the sport pack removed great idea!
I agree Mikey.... couldn't believe it when I saw it in the brochure ( http://astonmartin.blob.core.windows.net/sitefinit... ) and on the order form. I thought it was another one of their "spec" errors... so had to check it direct with A.M..... alscar said:
What you mean I have brought the " wrong " car - damn - still for a wrong car it's not bad.
Noooo Alscar certainly not, yours is a fabulous car , it's just a sort of in-joke as Aston can sometimes change their specs and announcements with the wind. They have produced a car to celebrate track success but put sports suspension on the options list when it is standard on the V8S.. go figure! But I wouldn't worry about that, many people prefer the standard set-up which is very good on the latest cars .
Phew will cancel the advert then - I read the book , knew the answer was the S and then got seduced by the SP10 sitting there.
In fairness the suspension doesn't feel that different to the 911 GTS in standard setting so was pretty happy.
Does the SP addition to the book mean I now need to buy another copy ?!

Yes Only joking, as the SP10 is based around the S it is only a small (but quality ) addition, I'll be sending out a PDF update (when I eventually get it finished!!) as the 7th edition will be out in a few weeks...! Enjoy that lovely car.

Congratulations - a beautiful car.
I don't think you need be concerned about the suspension debate.
I purposely selected a standard suspension car. In my opinion, considering the poor condition of many road surfaces now, the normal suspension is quite hard enough for a road car. I have not been in a sports suspension car, but I guess it might achieve a better lap time at Brands Hatch, but may be too bumpy on our pot-holed roads.
Stand back now, for the Sports Pack fans.

You had better ask Rob about Pearl vs Purdey then I don't think you need be concerned about the suspension debate.
