Woolie,
Being local as well as kind I'll be posting up a listing of available accommodation shortly once I've secured a date.
Their are some very nice places to stay and dine all with in a stones throw of the venue, you'll be able to pick from a decent
range from a sensible budget to some where like the George in Stamford that can be eye wateringly expensive.
My tip, say bugger it and have a look at the famous old George,an experience in the making.

Here are some website addresses for accommodation, many are within walking distance of Burghley House and are situated within the Old Town of Stamford.
Early booking is advised as Stamford is quite a tourist trap at times and remains busy in conjunction with the many events that take place around the area.
Some places such as the George will be relatively expensive but I'm sure not to daft especially if your coming from the South.
www.georgeofhotel.com
www.thehaycock.peterborough.com
www.thewilliamcecil.co.uk
www.gardenhousehotel.com
www.thecrownhotelstamford.co.uk
www.thebullandswan.co.uk
All the above are nice character-full Hotels steeped in charm and history, you might even get the odd ghost thrown in as well if your lucky.Apart from the Haycock
which is a famous old Coaching Inn nestled by the side of the A1 at Wansford and about 5 miles from Burghley all the rest are literally on the doorstep.
Pending what cash you want to splash or in the following cases don't here are some very nice Inns and Pubs, again all local to the event and all picked from my own
knowledge. They all offer nice rooms on a B@B basis and all have very nice restaurants which my belly can testify,Parking is good as is their Beer,Wine and allround
hospitality.
www.theexeterarms.net/
www.thewhitehartufford.co.uk
www.thecollywesternslaterpub.co.uk
www.thequeensheadnassington.co.uk
That little lot should keep you going by remember don't just take my word for it have a look on Tripadvisor if your unsure.
Finally if we have any Seafood lovers in our midst I would bring your attention to the Grand Seafood Platter on offer at the
George.......awesome if you like the odd Welk or two........

Hi,
Just spoke to Lucy at Burghley, she's given me the SUNDAY 27TH JULY 2014 as our date, obviously I'd like to accommodate as many people as possible with
this event so to help me help you.....SHOUT NOW,we could possibly have the previous Sunday the 14TH at a push.
I have a meeting with Burghley next Wednesday morning to confirm so don't be shy.
NB,
Mikey come on down I need to see Johny550.

Preferably w/end of 27th please Ed. I'm not saying I'm daft enough to organise a 3rd Welsh W/end run for this lot next July - but if I did it would probably be on the w/end 13th/14th July.
Just saying & don't anyone try & hold me to that
