No not me! Although I have been called worse.
I decided to make up some alloy knobs for my heater controls, sat nav and radio, (sorry, Linn Audio System).
I have used a 3mm perspex rod inserted into the alloy on the heater controls to operate like a fibre optic and amazingly, if you line it up correctly, it is almost as bright as the original.
The old plastic knobs were looking a bit shabby but luckily the fascia was not scratched from fingernails like some I have seen.
I feel it updates it quite nicely and I left the lathe marks showing rather than polish them.

I was considering anodising them black to blend in with the original switches but at the moment, am undecided.
