Sorry its an early bump or possibly bounce in honour of Avin's Dambusters film night so that those that need to know can see it..:bow tie:

Thanks for the offer of the Dirham Tony that'll be 1.724.98 Dirham's them...smile

Just to let you know today you should have received a payment request from myself to cover the cost of your meals,I've sent out 2 emails the first for all those with standard
requirements and a second to the 3 couples with a differing dietary requirement.

The mails have gone to the email address I have so in some cases they will be at you place of work so don't worry if they haven't popped up at home today as I appreciate it is
a Bank Holiday.

If you could forward the required funds via the details provided by the 30th of June it would be appreciated please so that I can make one transaction to the George Hotel.

Once payments are in I shall confirm anything and everything that may be relevant.

Many thanks,

Dear Ed,
As the great occasion nears I am getting very excited,as I don't get out a lot nowadays.
I have been giving a lot of thought as to my ensemble for the Gala evening meal at the George as I do not wish to embarrass myself.
Is it Black Tie,White Tie, Red Trousers,Rock Chic,Smart Casual, please point me in the right direction.
You will be receiving my cheque shortly, there is a slight possibility it will bounce,if so don't worry as I will square you up on the night.
Best regards
Steven

The George runs a smart casual theme so Shirt and Jacket is fine,a tie, dickie or otherwise is your choice or option.

The George doesn't go for Jeans and Trainers in the Private or Oak Panelled Dining rooms so its best to steer clear of any sort of sports wear…………..

But being its you that asks Steven and knowing your slightly off the wall I will if you wish make a special request if you insist on wearing your Speedo's
and snorkel……..biggrin.

Once everyones coughed up and confirmed I'll post up a better plan with timings for the evening and answer any questions if any arise………..thumbup

Had a whip round Ed and pleased to tell you my cheque has been sent.
One last question please regarding dress code at the George.
At the "Care in the Community Centre" I attend for lunch,on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have to wear a bib as I have a tendency to slurp the soup and dribble a little.
Should I bring the bib with me or will allowances be made on this occasion ? smile

Feel totally free to dribble, splash and slurp to your hearts content so long as you enjoy yourself.

Thanks for the Cheque our slug paced Postman slithered up the drive not 10 minutes since with our delivery.

Just try ordering a sandwich off the bar menu in the lounge at the wrong time of day, or if the winds in the wrong direction or,or.... nono trouble is it really is a great place. Hope everyone gets there early on Saturday pm, it would be a shame to miss having a wander around Stamford or maybe even a little lap around Rutland Water in the cars idea
Andrew, what a good idea. Do you fancy organising it? smile
I'd be up for this too....is it a goer???

I will do a recce later this month and see what can be lashed together, thinking maybe a couple of hours so we are back at the George for 5 o'clock dandelion and burdock's wink. Just don't expect anything resembling a Welsh road in the flatlands of Rutland. smile

Andrew,

From the George head out into Rutland heading for Oakham on the A606 and do a loop of Rutland Water before heading out to Melton Mowbray again via the A606,from Melton join the B676
and head for Colsterworth before going over the A1 and proceeding toward Bourne on the A151.

Watch out for the dip and sharp left hander in Grimsthorpe and then continue until you can branch right for Stamford on the outskirts of Bourne, take this road A6121 back toward Stamford.

Add what you fancy to this route and you'll have plenty of bends and ups and downs and a pretty scenic drive.

Hope that helps a bit and enjoy.
