Taking leave from my V8V

Chill Eddie Chill,
We've got your point on what is a very delicate subject and I can appreciate your disapproval but I think you've made your point clear,it appears
your quarry has gone to ground and is unlikely to validate any remarks or comments that have been previously posted.
I'm sure by way of honour the OP of the initial thread irritation would be better to conclude this spat by PM.
I'm not having a go and have my own personal views on such claims, which I'm sure the majority on here do.....
So please don't take offence by my calming interjection, its not good for your blood pressure you know.....
Well my main reason for joining in on this post was to actually ask you about the C63 as I'm still actively trying to find out what day to day mpg
return I could expect as I'm still trying to convince the Wife that one would be a pleasant replacement for our RRS.
I would be after the estate version mind and have clocked one in the same vibrant red as yours which really does stand out and would fit the bill nicely
but STMBO is on my case about daft consumption figures and always having to fill up......sadly they just don't get it do they.
OP,
Sorry to bust in on your post and I wish you well with your potential sale........

Hi mate. All points noted above.
My C63 is my daily driver and so far im averaging 20mpg over 3500 miles with plenty of fun in the mix (i only run it on VPower Nitro which will add a fraction to the mpg figure compared to regular 95). Ive had over 25mpg on a long run too so its not shabby for a 6.2 V8. Having come from an E61 M5 it really was a welcome bonus. Next month i'm driving to Glasgow for the weekend (inc a 400 mile highland hoon) so i'll be able to see just how far a tank will take me in one of these.
The C63 tank is 66 litres, but also has a 14 litre reserve. Im not planning on running it dry but i reckon 400+ miles on a tank could be a possibility if im careful. Ive had 200 miles from a half tank in the past so im fairly confident in its ability to stem its drinking habit when needed.

Claiming to know a dead soldier and pulling the 'sad for the loss and honoured to know him' card is something more than a few of us are bothered by. Couldn't give a st if he was a RM Officer or not, just disgusted by his claims to know people who don't exist in order to amplify his image. I've spun a yarn or two in my time to impress a bird or get a chuckle from the lads, but concocting a story about a dead officer is not on.
wow where did this all come from?Edited by ecain63 on Tuesday 24th September 19:24
did this all come up on the other thread of still serving?
blimey mate, who are you and what's up?
No claim of being a RM officer other than being a few weeks out from passing out and bailing due to National Team sport commitments... and what of my mates? i don't know you and I wouldn't entertain proving anything to you. So what that I posted on here about what happened to them and me? It's happened to many soldiers mate. Do you go around searching for all those who have a sad story to tell?
I really don't understand your motivation.

Thanks for that most interesting, but I doubt 20mpg is going to float the Enemies boat on that one,I keep trying to convince her and myself that it'll do 25 but clearly I'm kidding myself. My C63 is my daily driver and so far im averaging 20mpg over 3500 miles with plenty of fun in the mix (i only run it on VPower Nitro which will add a fraction to the mpg figure compared to regular 95). Things may be worse than the 20 though as most of our 16k miles per annum from this type of dog carrying, shopping hauling, skip running type vehicle would be mainly short journeys.
I've had the previous M5 as well and must admit it was rather thirsty at times and recently tried the new RS4 Avant but I think that only managed 19 and that was at a snails pace
as the Wife was with me for the day.......
Enjoy the Highland Hoon, I've recently completed our planning for our next trip for May 2014 and have permission to plan a further hoon up there for the following September just to get on Mikey's wick.
Cheers for the info,I think I best dismiss that notion for now and reintroduce it at a later date, preferably when she's had plenty of Wine.....

I have something up my sleeve you know where before back across the Glen Coe to Loch Lomond and finally back down via the Borders.
Any Mikey tips for decent accommodation up the East side and around Aberdeen.

Yes maybe you are, I don't want to piss on your chips even more Ed but over the 6000 miles I've done in the last 3 months I've averaged 16mpg! Since the trip computer was reset some 15k miles ago it's averaged 18 or so mpg, so the previous owner obviously drove a little more sedately than I do :drivin:Ed50 said:
