This monday night/tuesday morning at approx. 1am, a member of the public saw a girl climb on the bonnet of my V8V and go for a stroll on the roof and boot, before finally deciding to jump off and bugger away.
The police was called but failed to show up on time.
I now have some nice dents on the bonnet and scratched paint all over.

Very long shot, but if anyone saw anything/has any info it would be very welcome.
Police didn't bother taking forensic evidence or checking CCTVs, and have closed the case already.

Car was on Wardour St in Soho, London.

Any private cctv in that street? - might be worth enquires to the building landlords, after all it might be their tenants/clients cars next time. Would be great to get it on you tube and nail the offender

edited to add - if only it was a ragtop she would have probably fallen through and trapped herself!

Really sorry to hear there - some people just don't care about other peoples things. Get it fixed and enjoy your great car.

I've come to the sad but inevitable conclusion that I have to sell the car.
It lives on the street in Soho and in 2 years has had 3x wing mirrors smashed, a damaged front bonnet/grille/bumber from someone reversing into me, a damaged front wing, and now this.
It's just not possible to keep a nice car on the street in this area.

I'm now thinking what to replace it with, and struggling.

Very sad but does not surprise me in such a busy area of London.
How about a Land Rover lots of character and looks ok if beaten up.
Until last year I used an old Toyota Hi Ace van as my daily driver in London and loved it ,other drivers kept well clear and always gave way, great fun.

I'd much rather get back on the Oyster Pedestrian than get a Corsa!

There's a battered and very ropey olive green 996 that lives in the hood, somehow it looks like the local scum leave it alone, unlike mine.
A C4S tip is tempting me now...

Sorry to hear about what happened.

Suggest - Vauxhall Cavalier.

Burglers also laugh at it.
Park it on view outside your house, and they probably think you have nothing worth stealing. smile

Well, I don't - my Jaeger-LeCoultre already got stolen!
All I'm left with is a TV, an XBox and an iPad.

What's the mpg, insurance, road tax and congestion charge in one of those?
Are they speed-camera exempt as well?

No idea, but they're the last things I'd expect a current V8V owner to worry about. hehe

Won't be congestion charge exempt (though if you are a resident you might be), and speed cameras can still see them. wink

A good idea in theory but what about all those tourists piling in whenever you stop.
Anyway what about the Land Rover I thought that was a good suggestion in the circumstances, lot of class and character, thinking of getting one myself.

Yes, I know there is an applicable joke, for people who use old daily drivers.

Sounds very typical. Good job you didn't call them 'plebs' or there might have been a public inquiry.
