I think you are doing a great job taking your time to organize events for us to attend.
Like steveatash I am also challenged ,albeit not geographically but mentally.
Geographically I live in the correct part of the U.K. i.e. London.
I would have joined your other events but I work a 6 day week and so Saturdays are not on for me ( possibly make an exception if you chucked in a couple of floozies ).
So more Sunday events for me please and keep up the good work.
There's a positive, how do Sunday events work for other people.................

I'm flexible (that'll be the Sanatogen and Bob Martin's doing there trick then).

I've decided that the colour of your car, from now on, be known as Meteorite Turbo.

Well done Ed hippy

One extra little challenge for you, since you ask: name badges! I challenge you to greet each driver at the next event and correctly guess their forum name and stick said person's forum name upon their person for all present to see, be aware and possibly, in the case of a few, be warned! wink
Name badges,good idea.
And also funny hats and those whistley thinks that you blow into that unroll and false moustaches.
Good idea Molly, see I'm not weird at all. party

Maybe if we're all on best behaviour and remain moderator edit free for a month they'll give us our own heading like they've just given the Fezzas. Very undistinguished to be one of the officially recognised coolest brands in the world yet under the title "Other Marques".

I don't post much but do appreciate the hard work of people like Ed. so keep it up from the silent majority!

Unfortunately can't make Burleigh House as banger rallying round Europe that weekend (not in the Aston...). If I was able to go my name badge would be a lesson in not naming yourself after that car you've always wanted as once you've got it you'll undoubtedly want a different one! For what it's worth much prefer the Vantage to my dream 993. Went to Stuttgart in it last week and it didn't miss a beat. The same trip in my old C2S would have sent me to the chiropractor for a week!

Maybe I'll pop in to a D&D meet one day if they're still open to newcomers...

Hi Ed,
frequent reader, rare poster here. Thanks for your efforts putting together these meets. I suspect like most here that I get just a few hours a week to myself and really appreciate that you have put yourself out to arrange the morning at John McGurk's place.

I may scan the forum on the phone a couple of times a day and will often frown, or smile at the changing cast of characters, but I enjoy the banter, never feeling the need to join in myself. It has been a good read and technically helpful over the past five years and generally good humoured....Lately, not so much.

It's good that you've tried to arrest this and it's people like yourself, Tony Hall of Hever fame and the lads who get together at the D&D, who make the forum work in the real world, that do make coming back here worthwhile. I understand you think you may be taking a few knocks at the moment, but there are a few of us out here who are grateful for all your efforts. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Mark,

My reaction was to calm for the good of all and in no way a reflection based on anything that's effected me,I restrain from entering into arguments in general but I certainly steer
clear of topic's that I have no technical knowledge in or those of a volatile nature.

It would be easy to jump on every bandwagon but I think to myself "now are you qualified to comment" that answer is usually no so I just read others comment and retort.

Evidently of late many topic's have, shall we say got feisty and in some even personal, these I choose to leave alone as none of my business.I've been surprised by the amount
of e-mails and calls I've received since by attempt at calm on my morning post on Sunday, its surprising how many people have been affected and concerned of late.

I'm not trying to tell people what to do or how to conduct themselves I was just putting out my feelings as I saw them at that point in time,if something good comes of it then
great, but if I have irritated some I'm sorry but every one has the right to reply if they don't like what I thought.

Some may feel what's it got to do with him, others may concur......but a lot seemed glad some one dare to put their head in the mouth of the Lion.

This is only a forum and these are only my thoughts, you can't please everyone all the time but from my perspective I prefer to laugh than cry.

You'll always.... as with any Circus have a changing cast of characters but one things for sure the show must go on.

Maybe I'm just a Clown without a Circus......

Well done Ed

I have to agree with Ed, this thread was needed.

Since I joined the AM Forum when I purchased my car, I did notice there to be a lot of people with some ego issues and willy waving! (be it small.....)

I've been on various forums over the years depending on what cars I have owned or interested in, but when I started on the AM part of PH I did notice some issues with abuse / negative comments / back stabbing / snide innuendo comments etc from certain forum members and it has put me off posting information or asking questions.

Not for the fact of being worried about responses, but more for the fact of I cant be arsed to put anything up because it gives the knob ends the chance to put down and give more bad comments on.

If you haven't got something constructive to write, don't post. Or if you disagree with something, don't try and shoot the opposition down with abuse or crap comments, try and think about what you say before you post.

If you are lucky enough to be in the position to own an Aston Martin, I would say that you should have some form of intelligence so therefore should be able to voice your opinions in the manner of a mature adult and not some uncouth plonker.

Big Hugs to all wink

Ed, my opinion is to welcome such events although sadly for me I'm geographically challenged and up to now have not been able to attend. However, I like to read about them and see the pics etc, seeing a line of AM cars at the side of the road, with people wearing tank tops and flares is much fun. If I was able to go I'd contribute with my sartorial elegance around a flat cap, track suit and bring my faithful whippet with me too.

Go for them mate, a few dire threads doesn't make a forum poisonous.

It's just that this forum is hand assembled and with a wide supply chain, leading to the occasional problem, but nothing an Ed50 warranty can't sort out.

I'll have an outing for myself one day and post pics smile
+1 Steve we'll have to sort out a meet of our own up here!

There is no discrimination at the D&D, We've had people from the north there before and we even managed to understand some of what they said biggrin

With some of the words that are now creeping into the OED, I fear that Queen's English may become as widely spoken as Latin.
