Does anyone know if the carbon fibre roof panel option on the V12VS is a genuine structural part OR is it a non-structural "wrap" on top of the aluminium roof?

Thanks!

I'm going to guess that it is some sort of wrap. Having said that I hope that I am wrong.

Thank you cousin. Hope you are set for winter tyre usage. I think I'll just throw another prawn on the barbie and head to the beach with a cold beer

Indeed and I remember the feedback I received when I suggested wrapping the roof of my MF V12V with CF back in July last year! Seems we were both ahead of our time... smile

For that price, I would definitely want a structural piece of carbon, and until this happens I shan't be buying one yes

This is on the website: V12 Vantage S offers the greatest range of exterior options ever created for Vantage. An optional carbon pack layers wing mirrors, rear lamp infills and side-strakes with a symmetrically woven carbon-fibre finish. Roof and rear panel graphics packs - painted by hand - can contrast or complement the body colour. An all new black finish for side window surround offers further customisation.

So I think it's a painted roof, not carbon fibre or carbon fibre wrap. The wing mirrors and stuff on the other hand...

So is this carbon effect paint? clever stuff. It must be similar to that tartan paint I heard about, I think I may have the wrong end of the stick smile.

It is bordering on being a bit "Naff". Alfa Romeo have launched a little car called I believe a 4C which is totally made of Carbon Fibre, surely AM could come up with a roof panel. Still they have ordered £17 Million quids worth of CF panels from Pro Drive.

Since it's purely cosmetic it's well and truly past the border! Completely tacky. What sort of knob would order a car with fake carbon? Sort of thing I'd expect to see on a Corsa parked outside McDonalds (and not Jockmans).

The AM official black roof option is not, as far as I am aware, carbon look.

There is a choice of black or a sort of silver colour for the roof and/or tail panel on the S.

You could get it done on any car using Works - it's simply an official paint option on the S

Didn't it come out that that was for McLaren?
