My DB7 Vantage TT engine cuts at 265kph (165mph)as concieved by AML,the manual does not have this frustating device,I would like to get rid of this, any ideas?

Is the limit not there to protect against damage to the top at speed? I expect that there is a lot of lift on the top at those speeds. Maybe the limit is there for other reasons, but top damage is my guess.

That sounds dangerous. I have mine on a special stand, with the wheels dangling in the air, so I can go all the way to 166mph without hitting any bunnies. Or even leaving the garage, which means I can drink my tea at the same time.

Yes, just back from our Nurburgring week end and while the car behaved very well the engine kept cutting at 185mp on the autobahns,I am in the process of setting a non stop full throtle 800 kms run in Germany for our club in 2014 and don't want to have to pay the drinks if I am the last one at destination,the new Vanquish in our group topped 291kph.
This speed limiter is fitted to the non manual coupe as my car and to the volantes.

My understanding is that the automatics were limited to 165mph to protect the gearbox (and,in the case of the Volante, to protect the roof!)
