RE: Aston Martin DBR9

Nah. Not my thing. I think that British manufacturers should try to stop copying each others racing themes - green and yellow cry out 'Lotus' to me.
My, un-asked for and probably much despised by the resident fanatics opinion? Gunmetal grey, tungsten grey, that sory of thing, with black dots on each door, with the number, and very thing, noticeable-but-only-just yellow around the grill (grille? I don't know) and the Aston Martin Wings displayed proudly on the top of the rear spoiler. Mmmm.
It's interesting how the designers come up with the paint schemes. I don't know if anyone follows the Australian V8 Supercars series, but if anyone remembers Craig Lowndes silver and black 'green eyed monster' falcon race car, I met the designer who did it. They use crayons, pencils and an A4 outline of the car. I was doing work experience with Ford Australia (got to see the GT falcons development 18 months before it was released - yay) at the time.
Cheerio chaps.

sorry to piss on everyone's patriotic bonfire, however much i LOVE AM, you can't help but think that the Maser is going to totally pull it's pants down come competition time. I know that the AM is in keeping with the spirit of GT racing, but the maser has long tail aerodynamics, mid engined etc. etc. I hope AM prove me wrong, but i fear not!!!!!

I hate to be the one to point this out but it really is very dissimilar to the Lotus Racing Colours. For starters the colour is Aston Martin Racing Green which has been the company's Works colour since the 1950's. The yellow is a hark back to the dedicated code colour for individual cars so that people could recognise the different entries within a team. Original the Works teams used red, yellow and blue on the race cars nose and occasionally on front wheel arches.
IMHO the DBR9 looks superb. Completely testosterone pumped and on steriods.......but superb.

Not saying I woulndt have one, mind. What a fabulous thrill to drive. But pretty???

Great car and I feel it's a Lambo / Rari / Masser-basher . . .
Some great pics Mike!

Um... each country has had racing colours since the 1930s. So Britain has British Racing Green (or similar), Italy has Rosso Red, America has White/Blue, Germany has silver, France has blue etc.
So most British manufacturers unsurprisingly "copy" each other...
