I'm going to guess that whoever makes the most noise becomes the 'yob of the day' laugh

Mine will be tested with valves shut, therefore no problems yes
Just imagine,,,Vesuvius gets sent home,,,,the irony. hehe

Another noob question smile

I see the instructions say helmets must be worn, I guess the organisers provide some?

Is it worth bringing your own, and if so, what spec?

I'm guessing they're not as gross as karting ones, but even so... smile
See earlier posts,,,open face helmets are available for hire, although Will has for our happy gathering kindly included them in the price. wink

I shall be wearing one supplied at the circuit, although any helmet will undoubtedly mess my hair up biggrin

Note to Bob, are the ones at the circuit open faced as that would be preferable for a coupe?
Lewis is right, they are open face helmets at Rockingham. Not wishing to tempt fate but the long range weather (my lingering concern) is looking favourable.

Did anyone find an insurance company willing to offer track day insurance?

My Aston is insured by Firstpoint and they won't cover track days - I called CCI who cover my Westfield on a track day policy and they will offer a day rate insurance but its £635 for the day with an £8,000 excess.

I've also got the AM Spa trip in September coming up so if anyone has found a reasonable day insurance cover for track days please let me know.
thanks
The two companies I asked gave me similar quotes to that you have been given. I moved to Locktons, not only was that the cheaper option, I'm covered for all Track days.

Hi Y100,
Not sure if this has been covered on previous pages (went back to about page 20!). Just wondered what the procedure is for those of us who would just like to come and watch and meet up with other owners?
Many thanks for arranging this, it should be a great day!
Cheers.

This is a bit odd as when I went to Silverstone they were fine.... And from what I have just been told Silverstone are the most fastidiously safe circuit there is, over anal if anything..... Even mentioned it to Will when I spoke to him and he said was fine.... He did ask if I had driven on slicks before... Which is yes... If a car with slicks requires a roll cage, what about heavily modded cars with less grippy tyres driven at speed??

Slicks are only a nano grip away from any track day tyre.... And Im sure they would be allowed
I spoke to Will this morning re slicks,,,,I have told you what he told me. wink

Thanks Nick,,,,so likely a damp track,,,could be worse, fog and ice. It was the last time I went to Rockingham 6 Feb 2010 when my daughter Charlotte bought me an Aston Martin experience day cos she knew I really liked Aston Martins. smile The weather cheered up late morning and although very cold, everyone had a go.
