We run all of our Rockingham track days with a static of 98db and drive by of 90db
Y100 said:
105db is the static, 98db is drive by.
Which one is it? If it's 105 then that's about right imo yes
Just had it confirmed by Will, it will be a 1a day @ 105db,,,,,,,,,sorted George, so will I be seeing you there. rolleyes

I will trailer my car there.... Hotel near by the night before... Few drinks and some dinner...

When I done Silverstone, they allowed me to drop my car off in the secure compound until the following morning rather than leaving it hitched to the back of the Navara over night in the hotel car park...

I'd love to come and watch, and may well do. I've no interest in driving round though tbh, had a few passenger rides on car track days and it doesn't do much for me.

See my first post on noise
105 dB ( usually measured within 0.5m of exhaust exit and often on both sides)
If the drive by is measured at ~ 10 metres that is A LOT lower than the static (dB scale is exponential not linear so reduces quickly with distance)

I know it would be slightly better driving, I'll just stick to bikes on track.

I'll try to come and watch though.

Is it possible.....

For those who would like to turn up but not track their car (social/observe/meet) to turn up and par in the paddock with everyone else?
Even if there is a nominal cost?

As a forum member has kindly pm'd and mentioned these usful reminders:

1. Check your insurance for Track use.

2. Should there be a mechanical breakdown, will your Recovery provider collect from a Track.

3. Might be worth asking BR or Generation AMR if they would provide a
spanner man / trackday support - quite likely they wont be needed but you
never know if someone will consume a set of pads, get into the kitty
litter and need cleaning out of brakes etc etc.

I have asked the question, the answer:

"We have no issue with people attending as spectators, as long as you (we) are happy for them to do so.

We do not charge a spectator or parking fee at Rockingham"

Latest news, Bamford Rose will be delighted to provide a day of track support (free of charge) for the day at Rockingham. Now I reckon that speaks volumes about the MO that underpins the success of BR. clap

That's great, however the paddock/garage area is usually only for track cars. Not a "show 'n shine" parking area. If I recall correctly from my last track day at Rockingham, there is a car park near the pumps but the question is if there is the possibility of non racing cars to park in the paddock area with our racing colleagues. Not in the car park outside the track.
If it is possible, put me down please. I'll meet you next to the butty van....

I will be there as a spectator then, unless of course someone would like £10K wiped of the value of their car biggrin.
