I'm with you Jeff (we'll leave the others at McD's )
Couple of things - we can't be drinking much (if we have any sense at all) the night before a track day so lets just drive … &, considering the nerves aspect maybe a curry the night before isn't a great idea either (the blokes may disagree) … so how about this (for example):

I have been asked about using slicks; These may only be used on race prepared cars (roll cage etc),,,the forecast is giving showers for Friday.
This is a bit odd as when I went to Silverstone they were fine.... And from what I have just been told Silverstone are the most fastidiously safe circuit there is, over anal if anything..... Even mentioned it to Will when I spoke to him and he said was fine.... He did ask if I had driven on slicks before... Which is yes... If a car with slicks requires a roll cage, what about heavily modded cars with less grippy tyres driven at speed?? Edited by Y100 on Monday 17th March 09:39
Slicks are only a nano grip away from any track day tyre.... And Im sure they would be allowed

Thanks Nick,,,,so likely a damp track,,,could be worse, fog and ice. It was the last time I went to Rockingham 6 Feb 2010 when my daughter Charlotte bought me an Aston Martin experience day cos she knew I really liked Aston Martins. The weather cheered up late morning and although very cold, everyone had a go.

I am trying to picture you arriving at the circuit, with four extra wheels shod with slicks.
Do you hve a roof rack for your Vantage?
Just in case something happens and it cant be driven home.....

I can detect the classic early symptoms of the motor racing bug.
There is no cure, but from my observations, the illness gradually progresses, and you will be using a different transporter in a few years time. The vehicles are transporters, with hotel facilities and a workshop. As well as winning on the track, it is a requirement, that everyone tries to have the most impressive transporter.
Good luck to you all on Friday. Sorry that I cannot be there, but look forward to reading your descriptions of the day, and seeing the photographs. Enjoy the power without speed limits.
