Silver Birch DBS
Discussion
A J , I am not offering a cure for your squealing brakes but can offer a couple of remedies. Your beautiful DBS I get the impression has led a very gentle low mileage life so my first suggestion would be to tread on the the brakes from high speed . Do this a couple of times as the pads might have become a little glazed which can result in squeal. Second try reversing and applying the brakes, that can help. Ask H.R.Owen to check the pad clearance. When it was serviced it is possible that any adjustments that they made would be with the car on post jacks. When it is back on the ground the clearance left can mean that you have slight pad disc contact.
My last car had the most horrendous brake squeal, it was resolved by the fitment of large blue shims which fit behind the pads. Problem solved. HR Owen offered this solution, my understanding is that the shims are stopping what in effect is high frequency noise.
All 3 of my Astons have had a bit of misting in the headlights I am of the opinion that it is not a big deal. I try to avoid pressure washing the lights even so I still get some misting . By the time I have shuffled the car back and forth to make sure it is fitting perfectly square in the garage it is usually gone. In other words don't worry.
These wonderful cars that we own need using and will benefit accordingly.

Thanks for the info Rob, I will try and be a little more aggressive with the brakes next time I'm out. I have to admit I've not given them much to think about at all just yet.
CCM brakes have their own unique procedure for bedding/quieting. There is an AM bulletin describing it.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
