Good question and I'm pleased some one asked.

Cash is always appreciated as it will go straight into the charity bucket on the day to be counted and removed by the Charity Representatives.

Cheques can be made payable to the Charities on the day and will be accepted.

If you can get coverage a payment on the day to my charity link is also a good, quick and safe method of payment.

Here's the link again,

http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/astonmartin

Hope that helps, hopefully people won't be to shy so please attend the auction followed by the raffle from 2 pm at my big White Gazebo and just shout up when the lot you fancy comes up.

Ed another quick question; travelling up on the Sunday, what time should we aim to arrive?

Hi Rich,

Earlier the better tbh.

I shall be on site from 7am setting up the few gazebo's and generally running amok, slightly different to running AMOC btw.

Then display cars really could start arriving at 9am if your keen.

Between 9 and 10 would be the best bet prior to the Great British unwashed turning up as the House is usually busy on a weekend if the Suns out.

In General if on entry by the Pilsgate Gate House entrance everyone could follow my Stewards instructions it would be greatly appreciated as we have several prime
display locations.

If everyone follows the directions our display will flow nicely with some splendid photo's to be had,if you don't let mayhem in sue…….smile

These new locations have now been opened up to us due to a grass issue on the original site and "No Avin" before you start the Game Keeper hasn't be caught smoking it behind the stables.

In a nut shell its even better now than before………...woohoobring it on.

Over 100 miles and a 2 hour+ drive so probably closer to 10 than 9 if that's ok Ed?

Ed - small suggestion - if people pay for auction items via the Virgin Money link, can you not then also reclaim the tax as gift aid as well?

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but the position re Gift Aid for charity auctions is a little more complicated than this. Here is a link to the HMRC rules:

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/charities/gift_aid/rules/au...

I suspect it would be easier to pay by cash or cheque, or at least to make sure that the charities are aware of what each payment is for, if made through the website, so that they can reclaim only the right amount. Payments for the exhaust switches will also not qualify as gift aid donations.

Thanks Graham,

In view of that I will seek advise from the charities concerned..

Lets at this stage revert to Cash or Cheque and the link as the last resort until clarification which will probably be on the day.

Thanks.

Ed, gift aid box ticked on my 'donation' and will stay that way. If the exhaust fairy descends on my car so be it. Never bother claiming higher rate tax relief on donations so I'll be resting easy in my bed that night. sleep

Will there be signs on the road of which entrance to go to? I will be driving a hire car. Will I just park in a different town and walk the rest of the way. And hope to get picked up by someone.biggrin

If you're staying at the George someone might be able to give you a lift (do you fit in the back of a db9?)

Stamford is not the type of place to let me go ramming up signs everywhere so the best thing to do is look at the location map on the Burghley website.

www.burghley.co.uk

Then have a look on Google Maps, shove in PE9 3JY and take Peggy Man for a walk up the B1443 towards Barnack to locate the entrance at the Pilsgate Gate House.

Alternatively you could slowly drive along with the window down as your sure to hear my manic screaming……...thumbup
