Don't miss it, be part of our super gathering I think it just might be worth your time……...thumbup

Morning all,

Just bumping this thread due to enquiries and for the benefit of any newbies that aren't aware that they are needed to attend…………………….yes

There will be plenty going on and it offers a great chance to meet many of the characters that inhabit the forum, so please get your names down on the main Burghley Register or
simply send me a pm to find out all about whats happening or to register.

We hope to get 200 plus there on the day,a day well supported by some very generous and friendly companies that just might make your day that extra bit more interesting and
enjoyable so please do come and meet some friendly folk and chat about your cars to your hearts content with the experts and owners alike.

I still have space for a few more Exhaust Bypass Switch Fittings at a Charity price of £50.00 which will be fitted on the day by the very supportive and generous Specialist beginning
with B and followed by R…………….thumbup

So come on now its not long to go so please get into gear and get yourself sorted to attend this Event smile………………I'm waiting….ears

Well said Paddy,

Absentee bids can be sent by PM,but to liven things up a bit and hopefully boost the charity pot I think I shall revert to a standard Auction on the day for better and fairer coverage
as I don't think people are into the blind Auction bit.

So rock up listen out for the item you want to bid on and shout up you bid, highest bid takes the prize……………….simples.

Paddy give us a ring when your free please.

I'll post up nearer the time a full list of the Auction items so get saving your pennies, please for when the smash falls.

Ed, you are doing a great job. Please keep calm or you will blow your head off ! How is the car ? You haven't mentioned it for a while. smile
Good Morning Rob,

I'm cool, calm and collected,at the end of the day its only about putting a few cars in a field………………easy,no worries………..rolleyes

Now my car is a different story but one I now keep off the forum as negativity isn't always welcomed and as I don't wish to incur the wraith of others who only see the good side of their
Aston experience it's best left in private.

Those that know me and the car have certainly witnessed some odd goings on with the S,probably best left me thinks as Ghosts in the Machine…….smile

As we both know sometimes our loyalty can be tested but I temper myself by standing back and looking at it and the angst fades away.

My biggest headache is trying to sort the VIP Parking out at the George for those that want it…yes but I'm sure it will all sort its self out on the day…………..biggrin

We shall put you in a safe environment Paddy where you can do very little damage,we may even throw you the occasional Cake to keep you going.

In general things are coming together now but I still have acres of grass to fill and with many notable characters from this forum still missing from
the attendance register I think a quick rallying call is in order please to try and boost the numbers further.

It would be nice to get past the 200 car mark so please give it some thought as it should prove an interesting day with plenty going on,plus its all for
a couple of good causes.

Come on get your names down and come along and enjoy the day.

Thanks…...thumbup

I've had a few enquiries about what time entry is for Burghley so here's the SP.

General and public admission is officially from 10 am,that said if anyones keen they will get in from 9 am.

The event will wind down around 5pm/5.30pm.

Your fiver admission will be taken by one of my stewards at the gate,in return for your fiver he will give you a concessionary pass for the 2 for 1 offer for entry to
the House and Gardens.

Hand the pass in at the House ticket office if you wish to do the full experience to receive your reduced rate.

The Raffle and Auction is around 2 pm for some great prizes and donations,I shall post up the Auction Items nearer the time.

Any questions please shout.

I spoke to the Spitfire pilot today and he's really up for a bit of fun and is very much looking forward to giving everyone who attends a good buzzing.

He's a former owner of a DB5 Volante and is a true fan of Aston Martin so he will be doing his best to give you a decent flying display.

Anybody know where I can find a 109 for him to play with………..biggrin,maybe I should try the Porsche forum……….paperbag

Have a look at this website please,

www.loch-ness-lodge.com

This is one of our regular haunts and it is truly magnificent with views out over Loch Ness and a warm, friendly and professional service you won't believe.

Scott the Owner has kindly donated to the Auction a 2 Night Bed and Breakfast break in a Premium Room including Afternoon Tea,Aperitif and Boat Cruise on Loch Ness.

Speaking from experience this is a wonderful place and one we return to as often as possible, so if you fancy it save up a few quid and you could get the bargain of the Auction
with this lovely donation.

Go on you know you want too…………..thumbup

nb,

Please Mr Moderator don't tear this down its for charity…smile

Houston the clock is ticking………..

With our event at Burghley now in sight I have been asked by a few about timings, so here goes with a quick run down of a few pointers and facts to help with your planning.

Burghley House,Stamford………PE9 3JY.

Entry can be made to the House and Event by the Pilsgate Gate House which is situated on the B1443 Barnack Road, entry is officially 10 am but you will be ok and welcome from 9 am onwards.

All Trade Representatives must be on site any time from 7am and be ready and set up on later then 9am please.

On arrival you will meet me (great joy) or Patrick my Gate Steward for the day at the Gate House were upon we will take your fiver in exchange for a concessions voucher for House
entry if you choose to tour whilst enjoying your day at Burghley.

Proceed to the Parking zones were my team of Old Codgers, sorry Stewards will assist with your parking, will shall be leaving plenty of space between the cars so if its busy please bear
with the volunteers until your parked.

Our Charity Auction will be at 2 pm so please attend as there are some great lots to be had with all the proceeds going to charity,at 3pm the Battle of Britain Flight will arrive to give us a
fly past lead in the Spitfire by Flight Lieutenant Tony "Parky" Parkinson MBE who himself is a big Aston Fan, Tony tells me he is still smarting from selling his DB5 Volante 5 or 6 years ago
and has since missed it greatly and has wept as he's watched the prices spiral.

Following on from the Auction will be the Raffle draw, circa 3pm also, please attend the raffle to pick up your prize if your lucky in the draw.

If your not there when your number is called again at the end of the draw it will be redrawn for a chance for another lucky punter.

Thats the main points of timing for the day as requested so please feel free to come when your ready, stay as long as you want as the park remains open until about dusk.

Dogs are allowed in the parkland of Burghley and there are plenty trees for shade be it for you the dog or to enjoy your picnic.

Hope the weathers good so please come along and enjoy your day,any questions as ever just give me a shout.

Thanks and don't forget your Camra's…..thumbup

Morning Adam,

Its the same or only entrance to Burghley in use for public entry,on arrival they will be waved in at no charge by yours truly or Patrick.

If they want a concession ticket or 2 for the House it will cost them a fiver which goes to Burghley but it will save half on the House and Gardens,if that helps.

Once past the Gate House its only a sort drive to the tree lined General Car Park where all non display vehicles are requested to park.

Its only a very short walk to where the Astons will be at,if there are any mobility issues please let me know and I'll sort something to make it easy for you.

Look forward to seeing you on the day.

Ed.

Hi Gareth,

I doubt the GT4 needs a switch to be honest.

Are you still bringing it along….smile
