Looks nice but I dont personally like the yellow or red bits on a normal coloured car.

more here, along with details of DB9 carbon pack
http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/geneva-motor-sho...

Quite frankly, it's pathetic. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the car will be great

But how many times can they claim to have lost 10 or 20kg with the same options of lightweight wheels & sports seats ?!? Or the 430 bhp engine already fitted to the Vantage S, but they talk about it as the most powerful Aston V8 ever as if it's a new or newly enhanced engine ?!?

This is A V8S at a slightly lower price point with some fancy off the shelf graphics options and new upholstery options. There would appear to be nothing new regarding engine, suspension, brakes, weight, etc so to call it a track special when it has the identical dynamics is just plain misleading. Like I say, I'm sure it's a good car but surely they could do better than this !

yes
beat me to it
It is a Q'ed up S with the sport pack wheels and light weight seats (just like I ordered 2 years ago!) frown
Aston Martin pull your thumb out your arse and make the most of the brand with some new stuff instead shuffling the parts bins yet again rolleyes

ETA it doesn't get the CF bumper inserts from the S/V12V and it looks like the seats and few of the other "trinkets" shown are options rather than standard nono

The N430 goes on sale this September and will be priced from £89,995.
Don't get why they are announcing now and selling it in September?
Surely the factory isn't busy until then!
Having said that it is new reg plates and when the factory comes back up from summer shutdown.

What's also particularly disappointing it Ian Minnards spouting cr*p about it's track focus as if it's a new car/has new features over & above previous Vantage iterations that make it better on track than any other V8 Vantage. As you say mikey, this is no different dynamically to your car (well pre-BR mods !)

I should say that I have no problem with run-out models, special editions offering extra kit for free and all the other essential stuff to sell cars & keep interest up in cars that have been on sale for a while - I think criticism of that in itself, which I sometimes see on this forums & others, is a little silly. What does upset me however is when it's portrayed as being more than it actually is like we're stupid

I suspect some marketing muppet wrote that and he agreed to have his name put to it frown still disappointing he put his name to it though yes
I'd say my car was better dynamically only because that N430 has no sport button and is probably on comfort suspension as standard
Whilst I'm at it whats with banging on about B&O on a "track inspired" car rolleyes

are the lightweight seats standard or a cost or no cost option?

what is the price difference compared to a V8S?

It's unclear on the light weight regarding cost vs no cost
A V8VS coupe with sport suspension & CF bumpers as standard was £102.5k at launch
This is ~£10 cheaper with some expensive options removed wink

AM hse a contract with Ford to manufacture V12 engines until 2017. Won't see an AMG engine replacing it before that date

Which means the new V8 Vantage could get a Mercedes engine?

There's nothing wrong with the way cars look in PS4 or XBox games, but I'd not want a paint job designed by a games designer on my actual car.

Initial AMG engines are to be V8 of course

I wonder what the terms of the Ford contract are. Is there a minimum production number for instance ? Or does it prevent AM using any other V12 engine ?

What's frustrating is that whilst AM are obviously hampered in some respects regarding R&D and new cars, there are things they could do really well that would sell and be more evolutionary than what they are bringing out right now. For instance, they have all the tools at their disposal necessary to bring out a proper road legal genuinely more hardcore, credible track orientated car which could sell at 100-125k (the subject of several threads now) which makes this announcement even more disappointing

yes
The VH platforms and the "potential" from the current engines is good
They just don't seem to be able see past the parts bins frown

Fair Play to AM they told me about this car during my factory visit last week but I was under strict NDA to not say anything until the press embargo was lifted. Now it has broken cover I can see if it changes my view to order a V8V S but I doubt it. I have not read the PR yet but this thread seems to indicate that details and facts (like the price and standard kit for example!) are scant in true AM style!
