Bob, thanks, thanks, thanks - what a great day you organised!

Hi everyone, it was really great to meet so many great people!
I guess it is also fair to say thanks to all, for driving so well and for keeping the slate clean on bumps. This was my first track day and I felt rather nervous at the start of the day (added nerves from only having only received keys to TeaSpoon 9pm the night before).
All I can say is when can we do something similar againsmile
It was like a Texan sky - amazing!!!

Apart from the photo lap, did anyone else get to explore the bowl? Determined to be quicker than my previous lap time I braked far too late from 125mph and quickly found myself on the scenic route.

Thanks Bob for organising a truly great day.
Looking forward to the photos - I have some GoPro footage that a few of you will be on (in chase cam mode!) so once I've had chance to review it I'll let you know in case you want some video shots of your car.

Great to meet everyone and looking forward to the next one - anyone here booked the AM Spa trip in Sept?

This was the first time I'd taken the V12V on track and the thing that impressed me the most about it was the brakes - they are truly epic - whilst I was braking hard, there was never any fade and they felt like they could easily cope with was more than I was pushing.

Sounds like an awesome day. How did people fair for tyre wear over the full day? Was it run open pit?

I got the chance to do a couple of laps of Oulton in my V8V and my rears were 'bobbling' after that, I'd love to do a full day but that really put me off knowing I'd likely have to replace them.

Others may have a different view but I reckon the V12VS was the quickest car. So that would be a V12 in a V8 body. smile

I can't imagine I could have had more fun than in my old mans GT. My front tyres a completely fked hence leaving a little early frown

Yup, got that but the BR boys assured me it was 'normal', was fine to carry on and would sort itself out on the way home, and indeed felt absolutely fine on the homeward leg. Looked this am and delighted with the amount of tread left bearing in mind what they had put up with, the line of 'additional' rubber running around the middle of the tyre is visible under close scrutiny, I see it as a badge of honour biggrin

As LD said the CCM brakes were the stand out on the car, never any fade even with 120 to 30? (didn't have time to check the latter figure!) braking at the end of the oval section - it was 130 when I was wearing my 'other helmet' wink

Don't know about the speed but Gareth's GT4 looked pretty special.

Interesting day for me and the eldest Woollette in that the last thing my wife said when we left the house was 'don't drive fast'!!

Like a tcensoredt I forgot to press the Sport button for the first few sessions, and only used Track mode when she wasn't in the car. Here is a video from the GoPro of our first few tentative (non Sport/Track mode) laps. It seems as we were pootling along but for some reason the in-car footage doesn't really represent the actual speed.

The actual footage quality is pure HD and superb. This is a little grainy as I wanted to get the file size down so doesn't really represent how good the GoPro Hero 3+ is.

Thanks again Bob, you're a star!

smile No... I just remember you saying yesterday that someone else can organise it... No harm done, lets see if they come back with the same information.
