With it being a 3 mile track I would say between 30 - 35.
Found a good hotel 2 miles from the track. http://www.brecklandlodge.co.uk/
(We are booked in for the 18th and 19th. We are so glad we didn't have to drive back after the track day, especially on a Friday afternoon).
Have you booked already??? I looked at that one and it looks by far the best one close by... And definitely doing 2 nights..... At least there's a decent restaurant there and you wont have to eat with all the giro scummers in Weatherspoons Found a good hotel 2 miles from the track. http://www.brecklandlodge.co.uk/

Added my name to the list - I'll be in a 4.3 V8V roadster with newish Michelin super sports plus BR suspension and clutch - any advice on special preparation required and/or what I should expect in terms of wear and tear- just the tyres or?
No prep needed. Just turn up, enjoy the thrill of the day and if it costs you a few mill on the tyres, hey hoNealCS said:

Tyres..... Just an idea... If it sounds daft then can leave it, but what if I can arrange a mobile tyre van to be on site for the day?? Some people had a couple of tyre issues.. I know Bob had to cut his day a bit short (which is a real shame as he put so much effort in organising the day for us all) & Bismark nearly couldn't drive home??Depending on costs and how competitive they are some might be on low-ish tyres for the day and might want to pre order some new boots to ensure a safe journey home??
Like I said... Just a thought...
I don't mind pitching in a bit to sort this...

Fresh rubber sounds like a great idea. I would definitely push a bit harder knowing I could (legally) get home. Depending on costs and how competitive they are some might be on low-ish tyres for the day and might want to pre order some new boots to ensure a safe journey home??

Rat Boy, (sorry but it does have a ring to it), my problem at Rockingham was balance on my off-side front, it suddenly got worse (maybe threw a weight) and made high speed (90+) uncomfortable. I've had it sorted, 73gms added, smooth as silk now. However, difficult to argue that having a tyre back-up service at Snetterton would be anything other than a good thing. But a colossal waste of time and money for the fitters unless they're going to sell ten full sets. And I'd rather not have my wheels banged about in a mobile van. So they could have rebalanced a wheel and maybe fitted a pair for someone at Rockers. Not a profitable days work for them...

That to be honest is exactly what I feel too Yeti,,,I cannot imagine it could ever be a 'profitable' excercise. So they could have rebalanced a wheel and maybe fitted a pair for someone at Rockers. Not a profitable days work for them...
I'm sure we all agree we would much rather not have our wheels banged about but perhaps selfishly, in a 'get me home emergency' one would I'm sure be very grateful for the support. So Rat Boy, what do you reckon, its a difficult one.

Tyres are the most likely thing to cause any problems... Well that and brakes...
They may also take advantage of using the day to their advantage? Pictures and marketing for their own website etc??
It was just a thought.... Like I said, if general feeling is a no no then we can just leave it.... It probably would be hard to find some one, as yeti said they most likely wouldn't earn a great deal?? But I am always in the mind that if you don't ask.... You don't get!! And any things worth a try...
And I know that some of those mobile vans can be a bit ropey, but have also seen some well kitted vans that would be fine...
I really don't mind ether way as I will always have a spare set of wheels (just in case)... It was just after seeing poor Bismarks tyre hanging off and Bob having to cut the day a little short after applying so much effort!!

If you wouldn't mind making some enquiries then Paul. Its never going to be a money spinner, so the 'better' mobile operators will likely not be interested. As Speculatore suggested, we need an Aston owning set up. And I know that some of those mobile vans can be a bit ropey, but have also seen some well kitted vans that would be fine...

And although our cars look superficially similar, we need Bridgestone 19" for V8 and DB9, Pirelli Corsa 19" for V12V, Pirelli 20" for DBS. And fronts and rears for all. Conservatively a grand a car. That's a big spend to do no business... yeti said:

I know..... Its a fair point..... Will ask a few and see what happens... Could even be a non starter...
I've recently made contact with a mobile tyre fitter who is relatively local (Long Stratton - near the local AM workshop). They might be willing to come down for the day. Would you like their details?BravoV8V said:
