I do like Donington circuit as well as it's location! By the way the national circuit is way better than the GP if you book it, and also should be cheaper due to less marshals required (although less cars on track too).

25 year old girl eh? scratchchin tempting but I still don't fancy a 5 hour drive each way! smile
George, come on, a faint heart never won a fair lady. nono

Tony, thanks but I'll let you know nearer the time for payment.

Sorry, my fault. I went back to page 11 and took the list from there. If I had scrolled down I would have found a more up to date one at the bottom. Hopefully rectified it now.
Although its great to see the quota full, its inevitable some will drop out, so a reserve list I think would be a good thing. The deposit was paid a couple of weeks ago,,,other news as I get it,,in the mean time "blue skies" to one and all. smile

Only 8 people stating that they would like a professional photographer to attend on the day. I have the guy that we used for Rockingham standing by (Dom Romney - A professional F1 and automotive photographer) but with only 8 people saying yes I cannot book him.
For Rockingham it was £20 per car and each car had close to, if not more than 20 individual photographs taken. The beauty is that Dom positioned himself at strategic points around the track in order to get photographs of the cars driving at speed. We all have photographs of our P&J on some nice green grass, in front of a church, by a lake etc but not many of the car doing over 100mph.

If you would like to have Dom attend on the day for £20 a car then please put (PHOTO) next to your name.

Dom did a fantastic job for us all at Rockingham. Within his very competitive price you will receive pics in both high res and web-ready formats. I encourage all that have not yet done so, to do as Dave has reminded us and put PHOTO by your name on the Entry list. yes

Okay, so we have 6 slots available. Step right up anyone that would like to experience a cracking day out with like minded astonauts and enjoy your fabulous car to its full. No fear of an idiot pulling out in front of you nor a flashing blue or white camera light spoiling your fun. Snetterton is a 3 mile circuit which includes a fabulous straight for you to really push all the way thru' the gears, safely! This will be a day you will never forget, instructors are available all day to help you and or your better half get the very best from your super car, value for money, you bet it is.

There will be refreshments all day with lunch available at the restaurant. Spectators are welcome.

Not going too well this one....Bob , what are the costs involved with the current list?
I blame myself Tony,,,we all know how easy it is to agree to do something 6 months before the event. I was intending to ask for payments on Monday next,,,,I'll do the maths and post up the cost per car @ what ever number we have entered on the 1st Sept. Anyone that would like to join us after that date can do so but will need to make a request/payment direct to the circuit event organisers.

Bob, maybe an option to offer astonauts if they want to bring a different marque of car perhaps to get numbers up? I appreciate that maybe a non-starter (as it is an Aston Trackday), but people like Seemon has an S2000 that I am sure he would happily rag around the track and pay money.

Just a thought, obviously your day.

It'll come good Bob, not getting rid of me easily biggrin . As for late joiners if we are hiring the circuit shouldn't they reduce the cost per head rather than it going into the pocket of the circuit? For me I don't care what cars turn up as long as we know who they are or are friends of people who are signed up already. Whenever I have told people I am doing a trackday in the AM they all think it's risky but I counter that we all know each other and that makes a massive difference. Anyway let's hope we can get numbers up as we don't want a cost starting with a 4 or approaching that as that would be problematic methinks.
Okay, I would like to suggest that we do open it up to known 'acquaintancies' of our forum group for them to enter with a marque other than Aston Martin. I am just slightly cautious in the suggestion as I remember the Rockingham Track instructors commenting how well behaved we had all been, adding, perhaps because we were all driving Astons.

So assuming no objections, can I ask that anyone adding their name include the car model they will be driving.

Seemon, Cockers I hope to see you both on the list. Dave, I see no problem with your suggestion, Aston owners are great people in my book. yes

I've been asked to cough up the balance on the track fees,,,they have agreed to wait until the 8th Sept.

We need a couple more entrants for this event but we must close the list by tomorrow morning. Anyone that didn't drive their Aston Martin on a Track before here is a great opportunity to experience your cars true performance capability. Where else can you safely and within the law go thru' the gearbox using full throttle, its an experience you will never forget, as those that joined us at Rockingham in March would confirm.

I have arranged for there to be 3 Instructors with us all day. Any driver that wants to learn the 'racing line' or perhaps have their wife take to the circuit, can use the services of these expert Instructors. Refreshments are available all day at the circuit restaurant.

Winter will soon be here, so get your name down now for a great day out with your fellow Astonauts.

Heads up chaps; It would be good to have a few more Astonauts signed up, since we've lost almost a third of the original entrants (for which I had to pay a £1300 deposit some months ago), the cost per car has risen.

Be back later today. smile
