If the deposit is non-returnable Bob, then the 35 people that put their names down need to re-imburse you. That is less than £40 each, that is only fair, but a bit of a kick in the arse for those that are still on the list and willing to go. In fairness though that is less than a session at the D&D
Sorry everyone, probably not what you want to hear, but Bob cannot be left out of pocket. I know that some of the people I know well on here have already said the same.
^^^^ THIS ^^^^ IMHO EVERYONE that was on the list should pay in to make sure Bob isn't out of pocket Sorry everyone, probably not what you want to hear, but Bob cannot be left out of pocket. I know that some of the people I know well on here have already said the same.

Such a shame Bob - really feel for you mate
Okay, if there are no more takers by lunch time tomorrow I'll be left with no choice and will cancel. I'll check in the morning to see if the deposit is returnable, although I very much doubt it will be.
PS: I put details up on the AMOC site yesterday,,3 have replied today but so far no confirmed takers.

Bob you WILL NOT be out of pocket. Lotto's post above applies. Those that don't pay will be named and shamed Have contacted MSV that look after Snetterton, they are looking at options and will come back to me later today or by tomorrow morning.
PS: Nick Rice at MSV has not as yet suggested what options there might be,,,he needed to refer it. He did say "you have signed for the day". Which I didn't particularly like the sound of. However, being an optimist, maybe he will be back with an offer we can afford.

This from the Track Hire Manager today:
Hi Bob,
I’m sorry to have to inform you of this, but I have had a discussion with our head of finance and lawyer and as you have signed the agreement you are in fact liable for the full hire amount. I understand the situation and can sympathise with you, but at this stage it is impossible for us to re sell the day.
Have you got affiliations to other owners clubs or groups that could come along on the day to increase the participant levels? I think at this stage it is a case of promoting the event as far and wide as possible to up the numbers.
Kind regards
Nick Rice

Ouch.
But the good news (and the silver lining, I guess) is that the trackday is still on. Wahoo!
Did you read my earlier suggestion?
"Bob - have you contacted anyone at the local AM 'dealer' to see if they might have any customers who might be interested? It's Stratton Motor Company in Long Stratton. They also run several AM racing teams."

It seems strange that they would feel the need to mention 'Their Lawyer' in the email response. Is there no cancellation 'Time-Limit' in the contract that they got you to sign.
I started to get a bit nervous about this a few weeks ago when people started to drop out and the numbers began to fall. I signed up for this straight after Rockingham as it was an excellent day but on the understanding that the price would be about the same.
I have emailed Harwoods in Chichester to see if they have any takers but no response.
I still find it hard to believe that people don't see value for money having a race track for your exclusive use for a day with professional instructors at hand for around £350.

Perhaps we should consider letting other marques attend. There are at least 2 of our forum group that would like to come along in their 'interim' cars. How about Jaguars (forum) being included?
I have no problem with others joining in if they are known to the forum or from dealers or similar types of car for that matter. I'm not overly keen with sharing track space with £500 Saxos etc. though, not that it's likely to happen mind. At this stage we just need to get 'bums on seats' so to speak, IMO.Gettoff said:

How about the original 35 that were on the list the day you paid the deposit stump up the required sum
That also works for me.Speculatore said:

£350 is a good price; what puts me off these track days is the idea of needing two new tyres (or four half new tyres), and brake wear, so it's £1k+. Fun as it may be, that's a different proposition. The last count on the list as I see it, we have 22 remaining good men and true. To get to £350 per car we need minimum 30 cars. I'm sure we can find 8 cars of whatever marque from somewhere within our friends on the forum. A pal of mine that was at Rockingham as a spectator has an XFS would probably like to join us on the track.
