Well im now the very proud owner of a exceedingly red V8 Vantage!
As I have mentioned it was the first time I had seen the car this morning when I arrived at AM Works.

The experience was pretty special as well and thanks to Simon and the staff for looking after me, my son and mate. Had the guided tour of the facilities and saw some pretty amazing cars, from 3 1-77's to a V8 Vantage that was in for service from Ghana of all places which looked like it was used on safaris out there!
The journey back to Bournemouth was pretty surreal, never have I had such a massive grin on my face! The girlfriend has just taken it out for the first time as I type!
Ill post more pics of what we saw later.

Your dream has come true Ross.

A 'pure original Henrik Fisker', and a 4.7 as well. Absolutely beautiful.

I know from your topics, that buying unseen was probably unavoidable for you, but very pleased that everything has worked out well.

The smile that you had today, will remain for years. An Aston Martin is so much more than just a car.

Just thought i would post some additional pics of my visit to AM Works yesterday to pick up The Car!
One thing that was evident that the cleanliness of the servicing area(s). Even the Heritage Area which you would expect more drips and leaks was spotless.

The view from the customer area. On the left are cars waiting to leave and cars being worked on, on the right.

At the time there was 3 1-77's being either worked on or ready to go. If you look on Youtube a lot, a famous 1-77 was just about to leave and go back to its owner.

The Vantage in the background was from Ghana. All ill say, it looked like it had been on safari out there!!

With the bonnet up, we had to get a photo. Love the suspension setup on this.

These are going for around £2million now.

We also was taken around where the older customer cars come in. From complete strip downs to chassis, to a wheel change, everything can be done here.

Always been a personnel fave of mine, these.

2 Superchargers, and what looks like scaffolding to keep it all in place!

Also a bit of trivia, Aston Martin were the first to use the hatchback style of rear enclosure......but didnt patent it!

Back in the showroom the current range was all represented.

Picking up my new car aside which i cant still believe i own one, the walkaround was excellent. Simon knows his Astons and this and his passion was evident. If you are looking at a 2nd hand Aston i would recommend trying to buy from Works. The setup there obviously uses the advantages of being next door where some of these cars were originally built.
I feel though it may have to go back already though...after a bit of a drive late last night around the outskirts of Bournemouth last night i think i may have a hole in the fuel tank, that or the fuel gauge is reading incorrectly!!! LOVE IT!

You're up early this morning Ross. Couldn't wait to tuck into the Easter eggs or been out for a drive already?

Enjoy your car, she's beautiful. You need to post her up onto the "Non-black, non-grey, non-silver thread" http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=28&...

Your car looks fantastic and the whole day sounds fantastic and I am really glad they looked after you so well given you were a distant purchaser and they ensured the car and experience lived up to expectations (some dealer prepared cars I have seen have been very poor).

Have to pick you up on this though

"If you are looking at a 2nd hand Aston i would recommend trying to buy from Works. The setup there obviously uses the advantages of being next door to where these wonderful cars are built. "

WERE built maybe but no longer! Get yourself a trip to Gaydon and buy Grant's book

Above all ENJOY

My mistake in my poor descriptive writing. Obviously not now but were. And I bought Grants book early on in my quest. But well pointed out!
I will change, lol.

Enjoy your car Ross, I'm sure you will have had her out over the last few days.

Got to agree with you about Simon at Works, what a great guy.
