Just been out for a spin in the DB9 V and I was astounded by the sad small mindlessness if some people! I heard three insults today that I have never come across before. Jesus what is this country coming too ? Normally I have nothing but compliments and admiring glances, ( at the car if course )

There's always going to be people like that, generally (and big generalisation) people who have a big chip on their shoulder and are unhappy with life. Their loss not yours.

Mind you, I had a 10 year old boy shout 'nice jag' to me on Friday.. Now that hurt!

Go to somewhere like the breakfast club meet one Sunday and you'll have a crowd fawning over your car, that will give you your mojo back.

Had that every time I took my 355 out. That's the reason I sold it and up until now not had any negative comments about Aston ownership . Unfortunately it's the world we live in and I wouldn't take it personally.

I get abuse all the time David and thats just walking down the street………biggrin

I would put that down to an unlucky episode of cretinism, there probably out on a day trip or something.

Don't let it bother you, in general Aston's are spared this kind of behaviour but just think about the crap you could have got
if your where driving a Dancing Donkey or heaven forbid a Porker this morning……..eek

See it could have been a lot worse……...thumbup

What sort of insults, did they relate to the size of your appendage or the quality of your driving?

Sorry to read that.

I have only ever heard complimentary remarks.

Must make a note. Keep the Coupe.

Sadly a reflection of society today - an ex work colleague of mine relished in telling me how we would key someones P&J and wait around to see the reaction. If he was feeling particularly charitable he'd also beat them up....

Its only happened once in earshot to me but it does get slagged off at work so I tend to not go in it to work.
However today I cleaned the beast it took 3 hours 1 hour taken up with talking to members of the public who stopped to have a chat etc.
Overall ive had a great experience owning a Aston.

It must just have been a bad day. I have been out with my AMOC group today and when we came out from lunch their were loads of people milling around the cars admiring them and saying nice things as we settled down to leave. Great feeling and great cars - especially when the sun is shining with the roof down and lots of noise yes

Same here. I made the mistake of mentioning it and I got comments for a while. The crazy thing is this was from people who thought nothing of having an F Type on the drive and/or a holiday home in Spain. I think some people assume they're a lot more expensive than they are.

I thought they were nearly twice as expensive as an F type but so what, If that's what you want to spend your money on all well and good.

Odd, I've only ever had positive responses, at least the ones I've heard! Maybe I'm developing selective hearing in my middle age...

The cheapest F Type currently on PH Classifieds is £48.5k. The cheapest (sensible) Aston (a DB7) is £22k. The cheapest Gaydon Aston (a V8V) is £29.5k.

So hardly...

And the fact that the F Type you quote is a 2013 car and the V8V you refer to is a 2006.....

Last year when I was driving a Lamborghini Gallardo I owned at that time in slow moving traffic here in Plymouth, three scumsuckers in a shedster Focus pulled up alongside me in the outside lane.

The moron in the front passenger seat wound down his window and shouted out " c**t," to which I replied " Yes but at least I'm a rich one."

For some reason that seemed to confuse his brain cell.
