Not a major problem more of a challenge.
Going to Spain in the beast next Tuesday so tried and failed to set the sat Nav.
Derby-Portsmouth FERRY Santander-Manilva Spain
Can't get the Nav or google maps to take me over the water in a ferry from Portsmouth it defaults to Calais then over France to Santander!
Any help on this I know I can drive to Portsmouth then set the Nav for Spain but I want to do it the correct way.
Cheers

If you select walking/pedestrian, it allows you to choose the Portsmouth/Santander ferry (657 miles, 23:20hrs). No idea why it doesn't give you this option with driving (other than being much quicker: 14:30hrs to drive).

What takes you to Manilva? We have an apartment at Casares del Sol near Finca Cortesin on the road to Casares. Lovely spot on the Costa del Sol - not over developed. Would love to get round to doing the trip in the DBS one day. Another rental car this summer frown

Got to agree. We stayed and played golf at Finca Cortesin recently, great course and fantastic hotel. While we were there a fleet of Mclaren 650's were being test driven. I assume Mclaren were flying in potential buyers to stay and try out the cars. As you say would have loved to have done the trip in the SP10 but with luggage, golf clubs and the missus one would have to be left behind in the UK...can't think which one!!!

Finca's a great course. For anyone there in the summer it's best to play in their competitions which gives a significant reduction in green fees, buggy and a free bar with tapas afterwards. Win win situation and I even walked out with the prize of a new putter last summer. I agree that it's difficult to load up the car for such a trip but as we've now managed to stock up the apartment with most of the stuff we need there's less to cart around. Spare set of clubs going this year to stay. So the prospect of taking the DBS is improving. I think my biggest concern would be parking up if we go out anywhere. Inevitably the hire car seems to end up with a new scratch or ding at some point as it seems most of the Spanish don't have any respect for their motors and parking spaces in many places are hard to find.

So far I have to agree a lot of drivers seem to hang onto my rear for way too long.
Service stations are interesting visits too.
Estepona tomorrow need to get it clean for the port photo.

You should do the Puerto Banus cruise while you're there.
