Liquid silver wheel touch up paint colour match?
Discussion
Has anyone on here found an off the shelf colour touch up paint to match the AM liquid silver wheel paint finish as fitted to the wheel upgrade on Vanquish, Radide S and DB9.
I have picked up a few stone chips on the spokes of the rear wheels (due to the width they stick out further than the front). The under coat is black and it is very noticeable against the dark silver.
The colour code, if there is one would also do, I could get a small quantity mixed at me local motor factors.

It's one stone chip on one spoke, as you say the base coat is black, therefore very noticeable.
I have mixed some paint and touched up the damage. However when I flatted the area with 3000 grade paper (extremely fine) it removed more of the silver coating, it must be the thinnest coating I have ever seen. I have covered the black and just left it. At least the diamond cut wheels have a good coat of clear coat to work with.
To fix this properly would probably entail refinishing all 4 wheels at the same time to get them all exactly the same. If I do this I will refinish in bright silver.
I'm very disappointed at how fragile this finish is, I'm afraid I just perceive it as another quality issue with these current cars.

Sounds like you have prevented your eye being drawn to the stone chip.
I am a little OCD when it comes to my cars so would have the wheel fully refurbished - they should be able to exactly match the paint (I use a very good place in London (they take 3 days for triple coat wheels though)). I have done about 4k miles and no stone chips so far. Even if they take a little maintenance it is worth it to me as I love the liquid silver wheels - when clean they are the best looking wheel finish I have ever seen.

Any update with your order? I have a similar problem and would prefer to go down the touch up route initially, before having the wheel refurbished. My dealer has informed me that AM do not supply such a kit so I would be very interested to know which dealer accepted your order?
Thank you and Best Regards

I picked up some minor chips after a weekend in Wales last year when we had the late winter and lots of grit still on the roads
I went to a local refurb firm - for c. £250 all in, they take all 4 wheels off, tyres off, back down to bare metal, powder coat, refit, etc - by far the best solution

To raise this from the ashes as no doubt still relevant, what options have people have success with for curbed liquid silver alloys?
My rear was clobbered on a tiny Soho street too narrow for any car built since the 60s. Worse still, somebody was guiding me through and right after the front wheels passed the rear hit at an angle (the guy was pint in hand... so what did i expect )
