VIDEO FOR ANDY BREW

'I would like to watch that video if you get 5 minutes to post a link.'
..................................
There used to be a full screen version of this film, but I cannot find one.
The following link allows about three-quarter screen size. You might be able to find a full version. Although the car featured in the film is a DB9, what you will see inside the factory, is also relevant to the Vantage. Chassis construction begins at about 6:45 minutes, into the 42 minute film.
Hope you enjoy.

I defy anyone to claim the VH platform is not both flexible and thoroughly modern after viewing this video.
I'll take that challenge. Not flexible enough to meet latest USA impact protection.Vanquish and facelift Rapide meets US requirements.

If the architecture was flexible it would be easy to add airbags. As you say they are there on the Vanquish. So why not just add them to the Vantage?
I think side and head protection has more to do with the A pillar than the floor pan. and the A pillar changes the roof and door.. And they may in turn change... Why am I now thinking of the song that goes 'the hip bone is connected to the thigh bone.. ' ? Neil1300r said:

something to do with control units and air bag manufacturers not interested due to low volumes .. you can find out more from Aston's submission to US authorities for a waiver here:

But in the US they don't have roundabouts so much, and switch their traffic lights to 'are you feeling lucky' when the roads are quieter, so side impacts are much more common over there than in the UK.
That's why they care so much about side impact protection, but we aren't really so bothered. When considering lightweight vs sports seats, I've never heard anyone in the UK mention that one of them has some airbags in there somewhere, its all about comfort, weight and usability. Lightweight (non-airbagged) seats are not allowed in the US.
Overall, given the choice, I'd rather not have 100kg of safety gear slowing me down, let me avoid the accident by accelerating away

Had already seen all that. Why not use the control units and air bag manufacturer from the Vanquish?you can find out more from Aston's submission to US authorities for a waiver here:
