Nice work on the close up pictures Is this an AM standard part?
Your waterfall is very nice, the machined swirls give an engineering/old school classic car feeling. Is this the same finish on MikeyK's Waterfall below?
Apparently, they don't do Microspin anymore. I've been told that I wont be able to get a replacement if it breaks....Too scarce Your waterfall is very nice, the machined swirls give an engineering/old school classic car feeling. Is this the same finish on MikeyK's Waterfall below?
MikeyK's looks a bit like the Nexus pattern not Microspin. As far as I can see, this is a list of the Sat Nav surrounds that have been made.
Carbon fibre
Piano black
Dragon 88
Mahogany
Walnut
Bamboo
Double apex alloy
Microspin alloy
Prism alloy
Gun metal
Nexus alloy
Tamo ash
Can we tick these off when they've been shown on the thread? That woul dbe cool, pics of all of them.

Watching, smiling, as the double entendra takes shape, loving the replies, more Waterfalls please guys!
Has anyone made their own finishes?
Yes you're quite right trying to steer a non BR feed
Will
Here's the full c-f slope I asked for and 'Q' agreed to fit to Vesuvius,,,expensive, of course but just look at it. Has anyone made their own finishes?

Looks VERY nice Bob I want my car Waterfall finished in a new sexy finish and for this to be the same all the way down the Centre panels. A problem I know about already is in applying new decoration around my MY07 radio panel; this will be hard because the heater knobs have back-lit graphic details above (that back-light up at night) and the radio/CD buttons are colour-coded too. Your later radio panel were designed to be a fixed/consistent panel, allowing interchangeable decorative surrounds to be fitted easily.

I've piano black and that gives the "all the same" look - possibly a bit boring? I want my car Waterfall finished in a new sexy finish and for this to be the same all the way down the Centre panels. Hi Jon, thanks for joining in, Piano Black is an elegant finish. Does the Piano black cause you sky/sun reflections? I wondered what the reflective surfaces feels like in bright sunny weather?
In practice, outside, I don't notice the mirror finish but I took this photo for someone else in my garage and wondered what the hell had happened! It's to easy to scratch though. I would have thought a more tactile finish was better. Be lovely if you could have an alcantara finished one - just the problem with the console bit
edit: had a google and there's a bmw with the kind of look but it doesn't suite that car - but leather dash, alcantara central trim (where the piano black or other trims would be), alcantara steering wheel - might work better than it sounds

Thanks for the post, interesting matching wood effect gear knob and top door panels!! Great to show us all the diversity in the AM mark, good job!!
Just to be clear, it's not a 'wood effect', it is the real deal.Ken Figenus said:
I am told this is a known problem. Has anyone heard of this happening before?
Its currently a bit of an issue as dealer sees no problem in selling me a car with a cracked dashboard - its just 'cosmetic'
The dealer will skwirm on this post-sale I think, best to make these items part if the purchase deal. The dealer is obliged from my understanding to "turn out" a well presented used-car to comply with AM franchisee guidelines. If they continue to say no, I think you should complain to the sales manager or dealer principal. Its currently a bit of an issue as dealer sees no problem in selling me a car with a cracked dashboard - its just 'cosmetic'
Does anyone know why these crack there, weakness or heat related issue ?
