Hi guys,

For our 2nd anniversary, my wife and I are heading down to St Ives in Cornwall in the Vantage at the end of July.

We'll be there for 3 days, and I've heard there are some cracking driving roads and scenic routes.

Can any of you recommend any specific ones?....and photos from past drives in that area would be very welcome!

Thanks

HasanR

Sorry to see that the AM owning residents of Devon & Cornwall have not responded to you on this occasion. My guess is that they are all out of the county/country avoiding the grockels (tourists) &, in particular, the caravans. HTH smile

Not really. I've always liked the drive along Whitsand Bay (miles out your way) but tbh this time of year Cornwall is frustratingly full of slow moving tourists and caravans. A lot of the roads can be quite tight. Just be careful not to scrape it on the hedges. Sorry if that's not much help! Wish I was there having said all that. Enjoy the weather!

That's more a term they use across the river, Emmets is what we call them

Try and find the road that takes in 'Watergate Bay'. You can pop in for breakfast/lunch/dinner at Jamie Olivers Fifteen restuarant and enjoy the bay with some great food !

Only just seen this one. I am afraid your timing isn't great and if the weather is good the roads will be crammed and not much fun. We did a good run on the coast road from Perranporth down to St Ives out of season which was good fun but the roads when you are there will be busy. As has been pointed out they are narrow and the hedges aren't hedges they have granite lurking beneath.

We usually do our runs out of season - and at the end of July will be up at Burghley House with a couple of other Astons wink
