I am not a car manufacturing engineer, but you have to seriously ask why if a roof module fails, it just doesn't stop the roof working. But effectively renders the car not drivable

You may well ask why the roof module fails at all. It is such a common failure on Roadsters, must be a great little earner for AM

Could be a case of the roof module failing. Common failure that causes all the warnings as well as not operating the roof.
Yup you are right - we had the same prob when in Europe. ABS warning light, loads of other warming lights and handbrake light all stayed on but car drove perfectly. Main problem was the indicators didn't work. A fab dealer in Germany checked and said it was the roof module so disconnected it. And we drove it home. Now waiting to have the module replaced. spin

Actually they are apparently scarce at the moment since the dealer enquired if the factory had any in stock (which they didn't) so they are taking one off a car just built and shipping it to my dealer to get me back on the road.

I also mentioned in my earlier post that I had AA Breakdown insurance, so the AA have agreed today to pay £500 less £35 excess to the repair cost of the module / labour.
