Must remember to keep the window open
Discussion
The drivers door on my DB7 (picture on the topic, ''show us your Aston Martin'' (HOT660) has been slightly sticking for a while but I put that down to any rubber surround in this heat, but the other day the door refused to open at all, there is no 'click' or resistance when the handle is pulled so I'spose a spring internally has gone, once the door has closed the only way to open the door is to either get in from the passenger door side and pull the inside catch on the drivers door, which does work, or to get in through the driver door window. That's ok when there's plenty of room but in the garage which is fairly narrow, I'll be completely locked out if I forget to leave the driver door window open, there's only just enough room for me to get out of the car on my side so I have to have the left hand side of the car pushed right up against the wall, if I close both windows there would not be enough room to get into the car, (on the passenger side), the only way to get it out then would be to literally drag it out. No jokes about tin openers please..

Having a similar problem with my passenger door, a without looking at it diagnosis by BR at Burghley was that the door module is probably faulty.
There is potentially a manual reset that might help, will have to find the details. Pulling the fuse for the door modules may reset them, if not its a reflash of the module which may or may not work but if it doesn't the module is fubared so will need to be replaced which is several hundred pounds.
Hope one of the resets work.

Don't think I'll bother for a while at least, I only use the car about once a week so I can always get in from the passenger door side, I'm bying another car £23k in November so don't really want the expense of this fault and though I'll almost certainly have the cash for the new one don't want to be financially embarrassed when it's time to take delivery..

Make sure the new one is a roadster - doors are optional then Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
