Hello all

I've recently purchased a new Vantage V12S so thought I'd say hello. It's tungsten with black interior and was sat unregistered in the dealer's showroom when I went to test drive a china grey demonstrator they had. Like AndyBrew was, I've been waiting for a 911 GT3 though I'm still likely to take my car at some uncertain date in the next couple of months. I think the Vantage and GT3 will have quite distinct characters and complement each other.

Anyway, I recently drove the car through France including a quick visit to the Alps. No problems so far except the flap over the fuel filler refuses to open in the normal way. I have to open the boot, pull on the emergency release and hold it out and simultaneously press on the flap a few times before it finally pops open. The dealer is going to fix it as soon as I can bear to be parted from the car for long enough.

Here are a few photos taken outside my friend's house and at the top of the Col de l'Iseran in France.

Martn

Welcome to ASTON MARTIN . Your new car is fabulous! The petrol fuel filler cap problem is not that unusual. Considering how many times it gets used it should fly open. 14 months in and my car will occasionally do the same the part having been replaced completely on one occasion. Apparently there is a part available under warranty that will provide a fix. I believe the mechanism goes a little out of alignment. When it is open try twisting the cap so that the lug is more in line with the jaws . A quick squirt of WD40 on the relevant bits and it will stay operational for months.

Congrats on the car. It looks wonderful.

There is a service bulletin for the fuel filler on the Vantage. Your dealer should be aware of it and know how you repair it.

Congratulations, that is a lovely car. I suspect it will get more use than the GT3. It's just such a capable and every day driveable car.

Great colour! Had the same problem with my fuel filler cap initially, garage made adjustment to it and now never have a problem.. so would suggest taking it in for a quick fix.

Welcome with that great car!! I am in the Swiss passes as I writesmile
Quick spray with some Dry-Lube on the catch of the fuel filler will sort it, same as Neil, this sorted mine.

Welcome to Aston Martin ownership - and what a car to begin it with! Would be great to hear about what you think of the car in terms of the driving experience. Your recent trip certainly qualifies you to have an opinion.

Enjoy what is a fabulous car and keep the pics coming.

Good work bow
A great car and a great trip to kick it off with.
Doesn't look like any one who's been to the Alps in the last month had great weather though frown

Weather in the Alps has been really terrible. I have been here for 2 weeks now and except for a couple of clear days in the beginning we have had nothing but torrential rain which made driving a pain as there is not much fun to be had if you can't see anything as you are among the rain clouds most of the time.
