Well, during the fabulous Welsh Weekender, me Julie thought it was a great idea to return the hospitality, and plan a Scottish trip.
I've now had enough pokes to make me extract the digit (as Julie has lit the blue touch paper, and retired to a safe distance), and start to pull some sort of plan together.
Although, I can absolutely assure you, it will never, ever be as polished an event as Molly and Rob so magnificently pulled off.
I've got a lovely hotel in mind, that I'll try and contact shortly.
I think we've got some fantastic scenery and roads for you guys to come and enjoy.
I know we have some nice beverages for you to sample.
And I know, there's a whole load of sheep up here just dying to see you.
So, briefly, the format would be similar to the Welsh Weekender - rock up on Friday evening and meet the rest of the reprobates for dinner, and some other refreshments. Up early on Saturday for breakfast, then hit the road for 9:30-ish and enjoy your beautiful car in some of the best scenery Scotland has to offer. A couple of coffee stops and lunch while we're out, then back to the hotel to round the day off (I'll ensure they have plenty of the red stuff, just for you Rob ). Then breakfast on Sunday, farewells etc..
I'll update this thread as and when required.
Now limited to 20 cars
Any Scottish AM owners interested? Please ping me, as I WILL need your assistance.
Cheers!
Scott

Yeh hah! Looks like we are on.
Quick questions. Where are we going, staying, sort of roads? All that sort of stuff. 10 max or can others join in?

We're visiting a few hotels tomorrow, and hopefully able to post some more details after that. But, expect either Pitlochry, Crieff, Perth or Blair Atholl.
The hotel location will dictate the route etc..
Roads will vary from nice wide sweepers, I hope to manage our "roller coaster" in there somehow. I'll try and avoid the main routes where possible, although I think we'll need to use them a couple of times.
Without another Scottish based AM/PH'er it'll be difficult to accommodate much more than 10 cars in a single group.

Please note, I've updated the trip info - I need to limit the group size to 10 cars unless I can get someone else who is familiar with the area/roads to lead a 2nd group.
If there's a Scotland based AM/PH'er who wants to come along, please drop me a line.
I must be missing something here, Scotty If there's a Scotland based AM/PH'er who wants to come along, please drop me a line.
We had 30 on Mikey's mid-Wales jaunt last year - we split in to 3 groups (ok, I headed the slow group). Mr K was kind enough to provide me with a pre-loaded sat nav of the route and we just followed it.
Rob, Martyn and Adam were all on that jaunt....they know how the system works in the background.
It would be a shame to limit such a glorious run out to only 10 cars
Well done you for organising and if you need contacts in Pitlochry or Aberdeen I'm sure some of my demented mob of a clan can help

Appreciate your input, mate. We had 30 on Mikey's mid-Wales jaunt last year - we split in to 3 groups (ok, I headed the slow group). Mr K was kind enough to provide me with a pre-loaded sat nav of the route and we just followed it.

This will be the first weekend trip I've organised here, having seen how badly, and, how well things can go, I'd rather keep the numbers low on this occasion.
If a suitable volunteer was to make themselves available, then I'd be only too happy to double the numbers (max.) or have smaller groups.
