Ask the dealer for the difference in cost between 12 months and 9 months MoT. Its about £14. Or just move on with your life and enjoy the car.

I didn't even have to ask, they just did it. I guess that's a sign of good service.

Hi Fast ash

100k for a V12V and it needs an MOT? That makes it over three years old. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Best Regards

If it was advertised with 12 months then you should get 12 months.

As you have 9 months left - ask if they will simply redo the MOT free of charge at its next renewal anniversary as a gesture of good will + it allows you to keep driving the car.

You will also be getting it serviced around then anyway so they will get some cash from you in the long run.

My wife told me she was a Virgin when we first met and my 3 step daughters backed her up so I saw no reason to doubt her.

If I ever discovered she was only a 75% virgin I think I would feel a bit cheated so I know where OP is coming from and I think you guys should take him more seriously smile

Hi again Fast ash

That is very strong money for a car of that age. On that basis, if you are noticing problems then get yourself back to the AM dealership in Cardiff. Apart from the MOT issue, it should be perfect. Enjoy your purchase, they are great cars, and please keep us updated with your progress.

Best Regards

Why would the MOT pick up the problems? Unless its very obvious an MoT won't show it - as an example I get an advisory every year saying its got an undertray so suspension, brake lines etc can't be fully checked.

If its got problems get the dealer to sort it out under warranty / SOGA and ask them for a 12 month MoT whislt its there. AM dealers don't typically do the MoT they send it to a local garage.

You may be missing the point sunshine smile

The car HAS been sold with a 12 month mot on it - most cars are. The fact that 3 of those months have lapsed is a minor technicality yes

The dealership just came back to me saying they are very sorry and If I bring the car down they will give me a free mot and look over the car at some off my faults on the vehicle as lights keep coming up. So I'm happy.

Thanks for the advise guys.

It appears you are referring to the atrocious falsehoods, canards indeed, that some feeble minded folk have put about.
