Should main dealer aston Martin give you 12 months mot

I think you have answered your own question there..

I bought my car from a chap who had bought it from a main dealer less than 3 months/2k miles before.
There is no way they had done a 140-point (or even 20) check on it.

They seemed to just be relying on the warranty to cover the things that were wrong on it - I'm probably up to about £5k's worth or warranty work on it now - the dealer certainly got their money's worth there.
The only thing they paid for themselves was to refurb one of the back wheels.
