Hello guy,

does the value of these two stay quite stable or are they still depreciating heavily, more interested in the bottom end of the market, e.g a 25k DB7 and a 35k V8V

Cheers
Chris

I think both are fairly stable now, however dealer margins and adding miles will cost you a little, not bad value at all though.

pretty stable, good VFM ...you just need to buy right i.e dont pay top dollar from a dealer for a "low miler" and then use it ...or there will be plenty to come out of the sticker price

but if you buy private, average miles and drive a hard bargain, you shouldn't lose much at all so long as you dont put 20k miles a year on it

V8V prices will probably drop over the nex 4-5 months as winter pricing kicks in. No idea if they will creep up again next Spring

i think realistically, would have to be looking at the V8V as it would be an everyday car. Maybe 12k miles per year.

Well you can certainly run one everyday, I did mine for the first 2 years of its life

Many have below average miles on them, so doing 10-12k miles a year will just average it out ...

I would buy at the lower end of the market, just find a well maintained car and dont worry about it...certainly it wont lose as much as buying a new £35-40k car of any kind

I'm always torn on this topic and for a keeper I would definitely recommend Bogie's way of buying. For my own part I found a late 2006 car two years ago. It was a one owner with a mere 14k miles on the clock and I subsequently paid an appropriate premium. It's now creeping towards 38k.

I bought it knowing I'd use it everyday and the retained monetary value would be reduced with each wheel rotation. However my logic is that yes, it has deprecated, but without Starship miles on it I'll have less trouble persuading the next potential owner to write out a cheque - no matter how small that cheque may be.

Swings/roundabouts I suppose.
