Hi,
I've just returned from holiday and I've decided not to renew my Aston warranty which expired a couple of days ago.
The car has been utterly reliable over the last year so this was the main reason as well as flying through the last service at Grange Brentwood last month.
So I'll need some breakdown cover for the next 12 months.
Do you think I should go with RAC or the AA?....or are they similar?
When I had a 997, RAC operated the Porsche Assist service and they were pretty professional when I had a flat battery a few years ago.
Again, thanks for your help!

I had to use the AA recently and was pleasantly surprised by their efficiency and general excellent service.
The roof module failed on my V8VR recently and this rendered the car not drivable, so the AA sent out a flatbed and carted the car off to AM Edinburgh.
When I subscribed to the AA last year I purchased breakdown insurance from them (circa £90 / year for this option) and the AA will pay out up to £500 for an electrical or mechanical failure which renders your car not drivable.
The bill for the replacement roof module was £500 for the module itself and £240 fitting and coding, so the AA paid me back £465 towards the repair (£35 excess).
The technician who arrived at my car was very clued up on Astons and he mentioned that the AA head office had a link into AM factory to help resolve technical problems

I went for RAC cover, cost about £190 in all. Had the works (Not European) + Garage and parts warranty and key cover. Had a breakdown yesterday (DSC/ABS Light on and an ABS judder occasionally in the brake pedal). The RAC were AWFUL but - they collected the car, taken to Grange Welwyn (RAC Approved),given me a courtesy car (max 3 days) and will pay up to £750 for the repair. I suppose it's worth it but the RACs customer service is poor at best.
