Wrap should I remove prior to potential sale??
Discussion
Hi All,
After a visit from the Big C this year, I have been considering trading up my 2005 DB9 Coupe to a 2007+ DB9 Volante.
I havbe made a few changes to my car, mk2 side mirrors, alloy knobs, firmer suspension, clear rear lights etc. Plus I also bought another set fo black wheels and had the car wrapped (inc door shuts) in white, so if I do come to a point where I want to sell it should I remove the wrap and put the standard wheels back on? I do have pictures I had taken while the wrap was being applied and even had the side mirrors painted the stock colour before having them wrapped when they were upgraded.
I also wonder what I should expect for my car, the big downside is the mileage 98K at the moment, but on the plus side FSH all Aston Martin dealer except a comprehensive check and service by Bamford Rose a couple of years ago.
Any thought on value and wether to de-wrap will b appreciated.
Thanks
Pete

wraps are ok but marmite. if selling reduce marmite.
i for one, would never buy a wrapped car. not because i didnt like the wrap but for fear of what was underneath when cut with a knife.
having pictures before the wrap is no point if they cut the car to bits fitting it.
as said, it would i think sell far easier without.
i have non standard wheels on mine and i dont see an issue in selling it like that if you have the originals.
i have and mine are brand new. i wouldnt put them on for fear of curbing it in that time. to show the buyer a nice new set of stock is not an issue i see.

Yes, wraps are so tacky and devalue the car so much. I only got $25,000US more than the dealer offered me in part ex for my matte blue wrapped V8V.
you wrapped a car and it got $25,000 more for doing that.ok
Perhaps I should try wrapping my next sale I might get even more

ok
Yes. And it wasn't just one interested party. I was entertaining offers from half a dozen potential buyers. The dealer couldn't believe the offers I was turning down, especially because he had newer cars with less mileage selling for less in the showroom. But, as has been said, I did have a few other goodies (such as a custom Alcantara interior), plus the US market isn't as uptight about modifications as the Brits. ok
