Nothing new, but seems to be getting more traction last few days.

Who is the numpty Dan Mihalascu who wrote this?:

In Aston Martin’s case, the brand’s future products will be intertwined with Mercedes-AMG vehicles, so a takeover would make sense. If Daimler buys Aston Martin, the British carmaker’s lineup could become aligned with Mercedes-AMG’s range, including in terms of design.

Alignment of AM in terms of design! Is this man smoking something potent? God forbid Mercedes-AMG ever get the freedom to work on the design of an Aston. It would be the death knell for sure.

Speak to McLaren guys about how difficult the relationship was when they were building the McMerc cars. Not easy by all accounts.

Not sure about anyone else, but I'm really, really pleased I bought one of the last pre-AMG Astons this year. Just saying.

Agree with you, however efficient their technical features their design is definitely Tutonic.
There is not much grace or finesse nowadays, unlike in the 60's.

My view on this is no secret on this forum. I've tried to hold on to some optimism, and I'm still trying. It's getting harder. Every single new piece of information (the veracity of which is unknown, which is why I still TRY to be optimistic) is very disturbing.

I think the word "takeover" is kind in the context of AML. It is rather "rescue". Aston is at the very end of its lifeline. It needs investment. MB is the only one that is halfway interested and they will be waiting until the very last minute.
