What am I doing wrong or need to reset?

Unlock car with remote key fob
Key in ignition & turn, pedal to floor
MIL is orange on dash & no red glow on starter button?
Go to boot press BDS button
Then MIL goes off, red on starter button, car starts & everything fine

Any clues folks??

Check the carpet in the drivers footwell, unless the clutch is completely depressed it wont let you start the car, the mat can "drift" and stop the full range of movement.

Tried the old carpet check, it's ok. I think it's something related to electrical gremlins or some procedure which needs to be run through after a battery replacement. Just can find any information.

I'm fairly certain that my friend had something similar happen on a DB9 which he rents out. This was a good while ago (around 3 years) so it may have been another car.

The key's electronic ID had been wiped and he had to have another made. Have you tried the spare?

If pressing the battery button in the boot fixes it, then it's not a problem with the key(s).
Does the reset button trip if there is a short/overload somewhere?

ISTR that if it has tripped or the battery was disconnected, then just the orange light comes up in the dash, until the boot button is pushed.

Can get the car started now, but need to clear the MIL every time. Unfortunately the ODB2 I borrowed won't tell me the code for the MIL being on. Anyone know of an OBD2 unit which will give the code for at 07 V8V?

Thanks

Now have a strange clicking like a solenoid from n/s rear wheel when car is stationary & locked. I'm very much beginning to regret buying this car frown
